• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

POV from The General

he's Jeff Russels son......of course. (1991 AMA Nat Enduro Champ)

and he has become a real player in the GNCC series. Another 2nd Gen racer kickin' butt.

Wow
There sure is a difference between they way I "race" and these guys "attack".
Mike Alessi says in Dirt Rider this month that in another 5 years when he gets too old for MX he wants to try his hand at off road. Be interesting to see another "old" guy (ala Mike Brown) jump in to battle this wave of youngsters.

Fun to watch him race.... Got a chance to play around with him about 10 years ago here in some of the local SERA racing. He falls at the start, gets up & hauls the mail.

Can you imagine how much fun, and what the 1-2-5 was put thru during one of these? They are fast and furious...

It's funny you say that. I'm not scared of trees it's this high speed west racing that makes me nervous lol
LOM, its all about race choice, 90% of what what we are (choose to) riding and racing in our SoCal/N. Baja zone is actually tighter, but lined with more forgiving bushes in addition to the occaisional tree. That course is fast and unforgiving. Its great to watch top tier pros thread and shred trails!! Most ammie h-cam viddys are boring by comparison. I love this post and others where we can see how fast the top tier guys go.
