  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Plastics for te449/511?

PAL

Husqvarna
B Class
G'day,

First post here but I have been enjoying all your info, pictures etc since I bought my te511 3 months ago. What an awesome machine!

I know there is probably a thread already dedicated to plastics vendors but I am not so familiar with the site yet. What I want is to purchase some plastics to fit the te511. Anyone know of a good site? OEM or aftermarket, I'm not fussed. I fitted a Kreiga haul loop on the rear of my bike. To fit it with the unusual rear fender set up on the te449/511 I had to cut two slits into the top white plastics with a soldering iron. I have decided to remove the haul loop and don't want the ugly slits in the plastic. Any help will be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I think it is UFO that makes the aftermarket stuff for this. Call a good dealer like Bills (BMP) and they can hook you up.

About to buy a TE511 in the next few days, but am a little concerned about parts availability in the USA. Shouldn't it be relatively easy to find plastics for these things? I'm not seeing the stuff anywhere.

I don't plan on putting the bike through hell or anything, but it would be nice to know that I could find parts pretty easily if something stupid happened.
