• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Greetings All,

I've been lurking here for a few weeks and just wanted to say that after work today I'll be joining your ranks. I'm taking delivery of a new Strada from Toy Tech Cycles in Grantville, PA.

I've been riding since the sixties and have owned allot of different bikes. Most of my time in the seventies, eighties, and nineties was spent on air head BMWs (still have three of them) and a Yamaha SR500.

For a variety of reasons the bikes were moth balled for the last fifteen years. Last spring I brought the SR back to life and have been having a ball. Strange how all your riding gear shrinks when you don't use it:=)

Anyhow, new bike fever struck over the winter and here we are. There was nothing out there that I really wanted until I found the TR650. I rode the dealer's demo and was hooked. Smooth, powerful, and agile. What more could a boy want...

Here's a picture of the Husky's stablemate

Congrats: Although I don't yet have a Terra, I do share some of your bike history having owned various airheads and an oil head BMW as well as the first year SR500 in my 50+ years of motorcycling. As nice as the SR500 is, the Terra/Strada is light years ahead of it. I expect that the Terra/Strada motor is very much like the Rotax powered BMW F650 Funduro I had.

All - thanks for the encouragement. Five hours to go.

nwrider1 - here's a few pictures of other air heads I've owned. The sport bike is still in the fleet.

This was my 1964 R69/S I sold last year. This picture is my 1981 R80/GS

This is the same bike after I got done.

Based on the fact that you didn't post again I suspect all went well! Hope you have a weekend of riding planned. Enjoy!

Hey Jughead,
Nice meeting you folks yesterday. I hope all went well on the ride home for you. Think you got the best bike, best deal for the money on anything in it's class. Enjoy the ride! Love the the airheads! got a few of those tucked away too.....!

A thousand pardons for my tardy reply. Didn't get home from the dealer until fairly late and then scrambled to move my tank bag to the Strada. Rode it to work today and got my share of OHHHs and AHHHs. I don't think anyone thought the old duffer would actually get it. Come on guys, it's only been 32 years since I bought myself a new bike:-)

When I got home today this was waiting for me.

I've got a few more pieces to acquire and I'll post my experiences lowering a Strada for us inseam challenged individuals...
