    WR = 2st Enduro & CR = 2st Cross

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

125-200cc Picked up my WR150 today

Husqvarna
A Class
Well first I like to thank Bob at Central Jersey Cycles form his help again. First thing I did when I got the bike home is put it on the scales. 217lbs without fuel. Comes out to 105 on the front tire and 112 on the rear tire.

I wish the WR would come with a spark arrester. Has anyone made a screen for this mufflers?

Also the bike come with a 1970's style brake light that mounts on top of the rear fender. I wish I did not just sell mine. I ended up buying a brake light from Bob before I left. Also got the brake light switch.

The Manual is for the 125 with an addendum page for the 150.

The 310 air filters work so I have a few extras.

I got the 09 forks put on the bike so I felt better about that.

I'll start messing with it tomorrow.

get ready to fall in love...

I'm going to measure it and I'll let you know. I can't wait to ride it. It feels like a mountian bike compared to the 310.

reading the book showed some changes.
Compression drops from WR 125 8.8:1 to WR 150 8.6:1
High speed jet WR 125 (380) WR 150 (460)
Starting jet WR125 (50) WR 150 (80)
throttle position WR 125 (5,0) WR 150 (4,0)
Metering pin slot WR 125 (2nd) Wr 150 (3rd)
Low speed jet WR 125 (15) WR 150 (35)
Idle mixture screw WR125 (1+1/2) Wr 150 (1+1/4)

Sad it doesn't come with a SA silencer. It didn't come with lights ? How about Odometer ? What type forks ? I thought they were to come with new style Jap forks also. I thought this was going to be an Enduro / Cross country bike.

Dwight,
Husky Woods 2 strokes (and 4 strokes until they became street lega in '09l) since '92, have always come in to the US in XC trim with the enduro kit (lights, harness and odo) in a box to be added by owner or dealer.

The WR250/300 still comes with a SA, as they have used the same silencer since '00 ('02> WR125 used the same unit). I'm guessing when the new '09 WR125 needed a new style silencer, Husky thought the USA/Canada numbers were too low tool up a new SA silencer. Also the rules on whether the WR is a closed course or trail legal bike might have confused the issue. Husky should just follow GasGas and put an FMF TCII on the WR125 for USA/Canada.

It has open chamber Zoke's, same as '10 WR125. The bike is really more a '10.5, than '11.

Norm it looks to me that Last Laps bike has twin chamber Zokes same as the 09.

Below is a copy from the WR125 Thread of what was included in the ''Update Kit '' for the 125 that replaced the above. I just bought an updated WR125, did not even look at the above in the manual. Even with the new powervalves I'm still amazed how far the jetting has moved. It does not look that far off the 150...

Copy from thread...
Main Jet (450)-460-(470)
Jet Needle XP-5824-01 (third clip)
Pilot Jet (40)-45-(50)
Piston Valve 4.0
Adjuster Screw 1+1/2
Starter Air Jet 80 (screwed type)
Or possibly...6 DEY 15-47 needle

Right now in Pa, with the crazy weather we have I'm at...
Stock Carb...
480 Main
32.5 pilot
4.0 slide
6 DEY needle, clip in the Middle (3rd)
1 1/2 air screw
stock powervalve spring - adjusted to almost the top
36:1 Maxima Super M
This seems to be working pretty good!!

I think you're going to benefit from the 125 research on the site.

Keep us updated...

I did get the headlight and an odometer. It came with a crapy tail light that is no way going on this bike, besides it did not come with anyting to mount a license plate. There is a box of stuff it came with some of which my not even be for the bike. Odd looking stuff. I'll keep you posted.

The funky little Acerbis Molsoft fender top tailight, has been a Husky fixture since 1992. It is a piece of junk. I used the '08 TE competition taillight on my '09 WR125/144.

Congrats Last Lap. It's a beauty fosho. I'm just waiting on Krieg to buy one so I can test ride his and see if another WR is in my future.

Use the Acerbis LED tail light. It has a mudflap / tag mount and goes UNDER the fender. I used one on my CRF230F Honda and KTM XCFW 250 (350) . Looks good.

I bought the Acerbis tail light brake like combo. I also got the brake light switch. Not sure how to wire it yet any ideas? I actually like working on this bike it's very easy. I think that's another reason I bought it. Also Kelly and the rest of you guys talked me into it with all the great ride reports

Pictures?

I have The acerbis led brake/tail light plate holder too. Looks good and is very unabtrusive under the fender. Just wire in a tee on the power line to the tail light and run the extra lead to the brake light switch and then on to the brake light lead. Connect the two grounds together and connect to the wiring harness ground.
