  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

super stoked to have this machine but went for the inspection today and the brake light does not work for front or rear brakes. running light is on though. any thoughts?

Was the engine running when you checked it? Rumour has it this needs to be the case for the brake light to come on.

NORMAL:
motor off ignition on- running lights work- if you hit the brakes the running light will go out.
Motor running- all lights work as they should.
NOT NORMAL:
If it appears while running that the brake light does not light up when you hit the brakes- CHECK the Front Brake Master Cylinder Micro Switch if it fell out/broke off of the master cylinder and is hanging there the brake light will be on all the time (its a normal ON/closed switch and is off/open when presure from the lever "opens" the switch (when the brake is lever is not depressed). The tail will appear "well lit" you will think the running lights are bright and the brake light does not function properly (but actually the brake lights are on 100%). Common issue- hope its your problem and it just "popped" out and the tabs are not broken. Solution- is to pop it back in place- some have successfully ziptied it reportedly. Some have Wrapped electical tape around the Micro Switch (depressing the switch) to leave the circuit open- and they atleast can actuate the brake light with the rear switch....

when i depress the switch and hold it in the running light goes off and the rear brake signals. gonna try popping it open
