• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Keep on keepin on.
So I swapped out the red Terra panels for the black Strata panels looooong ago. I really liked the look, but the white panels just didn't look right to me. I didn't want to paint them, mainly because I haven't had much luck with painting plastics in the past (never sticks very well).

Lately I have been looking at vinyl and decided to go ahead and try it out...

Once I get everything installed on the bike, I will post more pics.

Ive got a similar idea percolating for my well worn 84 250CR....We will see if I can properly wrap a plastic tank and fenders

How in the world did you get the vinyl over those curves so neatly? Heat? Did you use soap/water to apply it?
Ya...how did you do it? Your gf will understand if you answer this one question.:)
Hey RE, is that an AK-59-M18 Super/Sub 50 cal. Powpua in yer avatar!? :D :D:D

After watching many hours of YouTube tutorials over the span of a few weeks I finally bowed out and took the parts to a pro. He quoted me 2 hours at $75/hr (I had the vinyl already) and 2 days to complete. On the 5th day he called me and said my parts were ready. He billed at his 2 hour guesstimate rate but said the parts were a pain in the azz and it really took over 3 hours. I originally gave him a 4'x2' sheet of the 3m Di-NOC carbon vinyl and when he was done he gave me back 3 pieces that added together could not cover a cell phone! He was very worried he would not have enough material.

My son just said he wants bacon filled waffles and my mom just texted me that she wants me and the boy to drive up to her place (near Yosemite National Park) and have a bbq today. I will try to get the bike together and post pics before we go.

I was going to say... after covering my whole bike in vinyl, I know what a professional's handy work looks like. And it doesn't look anything like mine.

It's a 24" 5.56 rifle I built a few years ago for varmint hunting

I build/assemble custom AR-15 rifles for coworkers and myself, and sometimes for profit. I also build really quiet rifles in exotic calibers like .300BLK :D

Man that thing's quieter than a mouse-fart.

Very nice!

Lol....I was tossing a bunch of e-waste and saw that fan in the bin. It looked fine so I brought it back to my desk to test...yup, it worked. Figure I will use it on those "I really should not have eaten that for lunch" days!

Yeah....I work with a group of guys that are always bringing some cool project from home to show off. I picked up the panels from the vinyl shop and juuuuuuust had to bring in a couple pieces to show off.

I'm guessing the red panels will throw it off. The skid plate, hand guards, stitching, and decals is just the right amount of red, I think. Looks good
