  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

part on drain mag plug

kouack

Husqvarna
AA Class
I just did a oil change today on found this on the mag drain plug, this is my 4th oil change so far. the part is 1/32 tick, 1/8 by 9/32, to me does look like a cir-clip but not 100 % sure and on what to do. I did remove the big case clutch side removed the clutch assy. all the circlips are in place. My bike as 15 hours on it, TC510 2008. Motor and tranny do not make any unusual noise, and the part does not look damaged by running through gears.Any input/idea. Should i worry :excuseme:

Its the end of a Circlip!
Could be out of the gearbox, there are circlips along the shafts. Might need to take it to your dealer and ask them to place it next to a Gearbox circlip for a comparison... :(

Check to see if the circlip on the kick start gear is in place. We had a bike in the shop that had 2 washers (shims) behind the gear instead of one so the circlip could not fully engage in the groove. Long story short it popped of and got munched. Luckily the remainer of it was all located and the cases didn't need to be split.

yes thank you, i think i will take the case off again and double check it and use the boroscope from work and try to have a look inside, i just do not want to split the case to find out was only maybe a loose part that doesn't belong to my bike and did open it for not reason.

pulled the clutch cover again, removed the clutch all circlips are intact , called a dealer and he told me too small to be a circlip coming from the tranny. Will cross my finger and hope for the best i guess lol.

How long ago did you buy it? maybe fixed under warranty? 15 hours is nothing, My 09 has 1700 miles on it!

Id just be scared of something going wrong in the middle of no where.

Its kinda scary to hear all these people finding pieces of metal on there magnet, more than other bikes that ive heard of. My buddy has a 09 te510 also he found a piece of metal on his magnet (c-clip or bearing side I forget) a few months back. Dealer covered it under warranty, it took over 2 weeks to get the parts but was fixed for free.
