• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Opinions needed on Husky news stories!

On another thread, it was suggested that those of us who are unsatisfied with the support KTM is NOT giving the TR-650, should give voice, publicly, to our concerns and issues with the motorbike. "Make it an unavoidable public relations issue."

Along those lines, I noticed news articles being published on the new 2016 Husqvarna motorbikes. For instance, I commented in the Los Angeles Times article that I hoped new Husqvarna owners would receive better service and treatment than I have had on my 2 year old Husky TR-650.

Here is a link to that article:

http://www.latimes.com/business/aut...sport-offroad-motorcycles-20150625-story.html

I believe that those of us who have experienced the cold shoulder from KTM/Husky with regard to getting our bikes serviced and/or been shown no goodwill with regard to the stalling issues, should comment. We should use the new Husky advertising campaign as a tool to voice our opinions on their service and support of their motorbikes, or the lack thereof.

Please reply to the L.A. Times and other articles this weekend before the comment period expires on the article. Please check on-line articles by Cycleworld and other publications and voice your concerns. Thanks for the help!

GREAT responses to the L.A. Times articles, thanks to all who took the time to reply. Currently the article shows a highlighted comment from a Gentleman from down under who could not even get the "service wrench" light turned off because the Husky dealer cannot do that for him. Pathetic and it shows! A lot of folks in the land of motorcycles- California, read that motorhead column. This just might help!

Please use this link to open the NHTSA (national highway traffic and safety admin).

Fill out the form with your comments concerning the inability of American riders of TR-650s to get "safety issues" repaired by BMW or KTM. I think taking the line that neither company will even offer repair services within their dealer networks is not right. Heck it might be something the Feds might frown upon!

Mine was filed months ago. I gave essential the same reasons as why this is a safety issue citing that BMW, Husqvarna and KTM should be servicing and/or repairing this fault.

I did get a response today from NHTSA, each complaint is given a ODI confirmation number or office of defects confirmation number, they said they will contact me in a few days, if all TR650 owners would do this we may get something going. squeaky wheel gets the grease, www.safercar.gov

Everyone should fill this in http://company.ktm.com/gb/service/contact.html

Below is what I said, if we all address Stefan directly, I would expect to get a reply;

Dear Stefan Pierer

RE; TR650 RANDOM STALL

As a frustrated owner of a TR650, I want to know when we can expect something to be done about this serious issue that is placing peoples lives and well being at risk? I have spent 12 months waiting for your customer service people to assist me and so far nothing has happened.

I look forward to an immediate reply.

Thank you

First, I'm a consumer and 2nd, I'm all in on Huskies .... That's 200% down on getting the bikes fixed at no cost to owner...

Gotta say next you guys seem pretty knowledgeable on the subject matter... Worked at a few large enough companies and remember more than the latest business deal to know these guy will stay within the laws of business or skirt them if they think it is in their best interest ... Right or wrong is not in that equation in most cases... But hold their feet to the fire in some manner and they'll come around usually...

SP could step out from behind the business cloak and speak on the subject and maybe he will... Unless he is bad wrong, why not say something?

another callback today from Brian at KTM, Ohio customer service. Said there working on it and he will call me back after the 4th with a solution. If more owners would call the KTM customer service and state there case I'm sure it would help all TR650 owners, the phone number is above
