• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Oldest Husky rider on CH/Most Husky's owned?

So, how many actual years have you been riding huskys and how many have you owned thru that time period?

Here are my stats:

I jumped on my first Husky 250 when I was 18.

I rode/raced them till I was 26 (8 years).

Went to KTM from age 35 to 39 (So that doesn't count).

Went to Suzuki from age 42 to 44 (So that doesn't count as well).

Went back to Husky from age 44 to 46 (2 years).

8 Years + 2 Years = 10 years of Husky

# of Husky's owned throughout the 10 Years = 6 Husky's total

I'd put my money on Geroge (Uptite). He's certainly one of our more senior members and I'm pretty sure that he has had over 40 Husky's as his personel rides.

I know there will be others older than me.

Started on a new 1974 Husky WR125. Didn't get my next Husky until 1985, a WR400 and in recent history I've own a 78 CR250 and still have a 74 CR360 hybrid and a 07 WR250. So that's 36 years of non consecutive Husky ownership.

Been riding Husky's since 1969 (along with various other Spanish Makes: Bultaco, Ossa and Montesa) and have owed 11 Huskies.

Riding for 15 years. Got my first Husky in 98 and have owned 4 Huskys (and a Husaburg, but I dont talk about that)

Ridden Husky's for a total of 17 years(80-87, 00-today). Owned '66-'04. Owned a total 40+ including M.S. Baja winning '67 360

Bought my first husky in 1988, just rode it 2 weeks ago too. Also own and ride an 02 WR360, and 07 TE450. Owned an 87 CR 430, 87 WR 250, 93 WXE 360 but all have been sold. I'm 49 and been riding for 39 years.

OK I'll play. 55yrs. old, been riding the wolf since 1971. I've had a 1969 CR 250, 1983 XC 250, 1984 XC 500 and my current ride is a 2006 TE 610. There have been lots of other brands along the way but there has always been at least one Husky in the stable.

Hey Gus,

We might have to elevate you to museum status! What was your favorite pick out of the litter in all those years?

I really loved the 74 Mag 250 and the 04 SM450(just made the mistake of selling it...funny thing is I never had the valve train problem like so many people did..loads of fun on the street!)
I would be lyin' if I said they were all perfect, but all I did was make sure they were all attended to with regular maintenance/personal fitment and they served me very well.Good stuff these Husky's :cheers:
