Cr125 2012 model the seal on sprokit shaft leaks its been replace twice once by dealer and once ny me. It has a seal and a o ring on spacer any budy else got this fault .can it b fixed ? Thanks
As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.
When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.
Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.
Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.
Thanks for your patience and support!
Thanks but every time i get a seal and o ring the o ring never fits in the grive in spacer its to big. So i went and bought lots of o rings but none fit .husky sport say just put o ring on shaft but that has not worked even got a new spacer. .What a design. My nephue has same prob with his husky and ktm also have the same faultSounds similar to my 360 the spacers got a groove cut in it and the o ring is about 1mm thick?
Mine doesnt leak but i have replaced it next time remove the spacer and use scotch brite pad to clean up the shaft and spacer then put the oring in the spacer cutout use a smear of vasaline to hold it in place, stick some on the shaft too and gently slide it on.
The outter seal the one that is in the case and runs on the spacer is that the correct size? I had one for a different year that was 33mm not 32 so oil wasnt retained at all.
Good luck and if i mis read the issue ignore all i said.
ive stop the leak bodging it with silicone instant gaskit and put o ring on shaft it works but id love to no how husky fit it .mine leaked with in 5days of buying it new the dealer tells me they do leak surely oil leaking is not normal .i have a old triumph bonnevill 1964 thats more oil tight than thr huskyOr cutting the oring and gluing it to correct size then install with a bit of sealent? Could do the job, the bearing it seals against is a casset type needle roller and has a metal slip ring to push against the oring and form the seal.
No not to much oil.. Not blocked vent.just dodge design fancy a o ring as a oil seal on a main shaft. Sureley a joke had hondas yams etc and they dont use o ring they use seals and you get no troubleHow much oil are you putting in and is the crank case vent hose plugged up?
If it is over full or the vent is plugged up it will usually vent the pressure out the counter shaft seal. Worth checking.
Later,
The manuel i have from husky just says o ring no size of it and how stupid they dont have the righr o ring as the o ring i bought came from husqvarna .if they cant surply the right seal and o ring thats a joke sounds like my huskys up for sale. To much troubleYup i did mine when i replaced conrod still dry too, like i said a correct oring is going to be the cure. Find a manual see what spec it is and see if rotec can source you a nitrile one theyre very good they specialise in hydraulics but do all sorts of seals n fittings.
Yes am selling dought ud be interested i live in torquay england around where i live poeple think it chinese lol good bike but trouble ive owned lots of new bikes and the husky has been a constant night mare it whent wrong first day ive spent hundreds on it. Thanks for the helpLol thats up to you really but ive had wrong parts supplied for everything cars bikes computers etc its a very common occurance, yes i feel your pain but if the instant gaskest sorted it for the time i would forget about it.
As for getting rid of machinery cus of a few teething issues thats crazy talk.
Try buying a brand new bike and punting it out before the first mot thats about the easyest way to get trouble free motoring buut then you have recalls and new prices to pay gets £££ we are all in the same boat and when the bikes right it should be right for a long while.
How much you after for it i may be interested around july time.
