  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I am chasing a oil leak and can't seem to find out where its coming from. I've cleaned the bike 4 times trying to find it..I just changed the oil and found a oring in one of the oil drain screens... So I've checked all the places I tought there should be a oring.
Oil filter cover
Cluch cover
Oil drain covers
Oil fill

It seems like the leak is coming from the bottom of the bike the skid plate as oil in it.but then there's oil on top of the air box.

The only place I can think it can be coming from or oring missing is spark plug tube around valve cover or seal around the vent breather. Any other places that have Orings on it I have missed?

I ordered a valve cover gasket kit from husky. Was only 50 bucks should have it Saturday.

Also I need a new gas cap I swear it's like I'm cross threading the damn thing every time I put it on and take it off and threads are mint,

Get the zipty gas cap. It's billet and looks sooo much better than plastic stock crap cap. Oil leak is prolly the spark plug gasket on the valve cover. Did you take the the cover off recently?

Do what I do:

Step 1: Make sure it is not starving the bike of anything it needs (doubtful).

Step 2: Ignore it.

Lol step 2 sounds perfect

And took the valve cover off last year when I got the vent (tank was on back order) but there wasn't leaks then.

I noticed the leak in January when riding in the snow went for a 2 hr ride on way home started leaking. And now it don't want to stop and can't find the leak. I just got home from work and the valve gasket kit was at the front door. So I'm going to rip the valve cover off check the valve clearance and throw it all
Back to gether hoping when I take it apart I find the missing oring that I found in the oil screen was about 2 inches long
