• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

OK I'm new and can't figure out how to PM on this site:eek:
PSUcanary has a lowering link--you bet I'm inseam challenged:cry:
I've left a note in his profile but no response and I don't understand the difference between a conversation and a PM on this site.
Anyway can someone tell me how to PM the guy? I want the lowering link.
Thanks in advance:applause:

Welcome to CafeHusky, Akasy

The software we use here at CafeHusky calls PM's "conversations." Starting a conversation is the exact same thing as sending a PM to someone.

Thanks all--I'm obviously not smarter than the equipment I'm working with:)
Guess that puts me at a real disadvantage when riding the 2009 TE510 that I just acquired:eek:
Heck that ECM has more brains than I ever will---:excuseme:
Now if PCU will just read his "conversations"

Can't help you with that part of it...lol..

While the concept of Conversations and PMs are identical, the formatting is massively different - in a good way. The down side is that several people have contacting me thinking that everyone in the world could see the conversation - but it is only the people listed as participants.

Thanks--while that may be a concern to some, I've long had a policy--don't worry about anything you say or write if you first envision it posted on a wall somewhere.

That's a good policy

I try to think to myself..."What if my mom saw me writing this stuff?" or the mother of the person I was commenting to/about.
