• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

No clutch feel

I lost my clutch disengagement on my 09 450 te. I purchased the 7602 piston and installed it with no worries. I also completely disassembled my clutch master cylinder due to some ooze coming down my hand guard. I cleaned out all the grime which collected at the snap ring, the rubber o-rings look ok. However, I still dont get and feel at the lever after all is reassembled and tight? I have 2650 miles on the bike. What else should I be looking for? I sure wish the Huskys came with a worry free cable clutch.

Mate you don't want a cable operated clutch, just go over your work again, re clean and bleed the clutch again. I am sure it will be fine this time around.

yeah, after a few hours of bleeding the system, I finally got it to pump up. The key was to bleed up from the slave to the master, I learned a bunch today. When cracking the slave nipple, don't pull in the clutch lever or else the pressure will blow off the hose and stain your clothes. hahaha. Today was a good day, lets see if the scooter will dominate the forest tonight. Braaap!!

Unbelievable ride last night testing the clutch. It started raining and the clutch worked flawlessly. I saw a baby bobcat...uh bobcub on the trail and got plowed by some flying something(bird or bat) in the chest.
The first pic is of a rainbow over a meadow at Deer Creek in Twain Harte and the other is a sunset thru the trees on Italian Bar Rd.

Great pics! Glad to hear you got it working. Keep an eye on that master cylinder though. I had similar issues and also replaced the piston with the 7602 unit. It would bleed up fine and then a couple of rides later it would go away again. I ended up needing a master cylinder rebuild kit and that fixed the problem finally. There is so little fluid in there it's hard to notice that it is leaking and before you know it, it's gone.

I had the same drama with my clutch, only i just replaced the mineral oil with brake fluid, 3000kms on and no issues since!
