• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

NHTSA sticker for 2008 TE510

surly

Husqvarna
AA Class
My 610 has the sticker on the back of the front fender
My 510 doesn't have one at all. Bike was purchased new and the dealer doesnt know anything about it

Do you have an 08 510 with the NHTSA sticker? Where is it located?

Where can I get one if I don't have it? Has anyone ever gotten a replacement?

Thank you

Does it look like on was EVER there?

TE 250 2008 here and that's where mine is. Is your bike licensed?

Dealer should have checked for it. Someone maybe steal it?

Scott I think the pressure washer got the best of it as it was washed at least twice prior to your acquisition. However the sticker on the front fenders of the bikes on the showroom have no wording at all about NHTSA that I could find. We'll either temporarily swap fenders or get our "guy" to sign off on the paperwork. for that matter your 610 fender may transfer over maybe, I can't remember if the front fender from a 610 is interchangeable with a 510.

I thought about swapping fenders but it had the VIN on it so that wont work
While I might be okay here I might not be somewhere else. I move ever 1-2 years and it would be a real downer to be "illegal" all of the sudden.

Given that its a sticker I wonder what the process is where a fender gets replaced or a sticker gets washed off. If other new bikes don't have them (sounds like some do have them) what is one to do? How do you prove the bike is legal? If the sticker wasn't important then the vin verification form wouldn't ask for it right?

The DMV can be a scary place in that if someone right or wrong thinks the sticker has to be there whne its not and gives you the big red reject stamp your fuct.

I guess I will ask on Monday and if I get the wrong answer then I'll have to get more creative.

Hi Surly,

Can you send me a picture of your NHTSA sticer on your 2008 SM610. I just bought a used 2008 SM610 from South Carolina and my Georgia DMV wants me to get the bike inspected and get the T-22B VIN inspection form filled by a LEO. I can't find any NHTSA sticker on my SM610 and I am worried.

Bobby,

Can you please send me your contact number? I live in Athens GA and I'm assuming your are associated with the Husqvarna dealership in ATL.

Thanks,
-Raj
