• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I got my 8 year old son a Kawasaki KLX110 for Christmas. Now that we've got a dirt-only ride in the garage, we needed something to haul bikes. So, I custom ordered a new truck. 2015 F-150 with the 3.5L EcoBoost engine. Beautiful truck! Brought it home on Saturday:

Nice ride! Keep us updated on how you like the truck once you have a few more miles on it. I'm interested to hear how real life people like the new Alum body versions. I'll be in the market for a new truck sometime in the next year and this one is on the short list now.

So far, I'm averaging about 15 MPG mostly in town. I bought it from a dealer about 50 miles away and was in the low 20s on the way home from there.

I've got about 200 miles on it now and love it (but, time will tell). I'm planning on keeping this long term.

It parallel parks itself. I have tried it out a few times and it feels really weird to just let go of the steering wheel and let the truck do the work. It works flawlessly!

Great looking truck and that ramp back there looks pretty cool .... yep, driving is a thing of the past ...

Jtemple,

Enjoy! I have 48,000 mi on mine and runs awesome! The smart tranny gets to smart for me sometimes and the gas milage is really good if you don't run over 65 mph! 80 mph on the interstate and in mid-teens.

Buddy just got one and the rear leg room is crazy. Its like a limo back there. Very nice trucks.

Yeah, the back seat is pretty ridiculous. My son can almost stand up and walk around back there. The rear seats fold up to reveal a completely flat floor space, too. Plenty of interior cargo room if you don't have passengers to put back there.

Great looking rig you have- I love the wood on the doors too. It may not be real wood , but I've always liked that look.
I'd trade even up for for '93 long bed regular cab / roll up windows, but I think I'd miss the old fashion wing windows, and inline 4.9L six.

Whats the deal with the ramp? I love it.... I love that truck and been kicking it around for a while just somehow in my head I cant justify that kinda money on one.... lol

There's a ramp on each side. They lock down to the bed rails and include a couple of cable locks that unlock using the truck key. The cables are long enough to string through bikes or whatever you happen to load into the back.

The ramps also have a channel in them that slides onto a lip on the tailgate.

As far as the justification goes, we needed something to haul bikes. It was either buying a trailer to tow with a 10 year old SUV, or biting the bullet and buying a new vehicle. The two options that made the most sense for our needs were a minivan & trailer, or a truck. A loaded minivan isn't a heck of a lot cheaper than a truck. Buying a truck meant we didn't need to buy a trailer.

Your justification reminds me of a story a friend told me a long time ago. He was on lot looking at the diesel trucks. He had an old gas guzzler, and the sales employee told him is that your truck? He replied, yes it is. The sales person said, do you know how much you'll save with this? My friend replied yes I do. It will take me 32 years to justify paying for the new truck based on that. The real justification is: I want that new diesel truck.
He drove home- happy with the new truck!

300 I6:thumbsup: AND WING WINDOWS I MISS'EM TOO THE NEW BRRRAP VAN DOESN'T HAVE'EM

Beautiful truck, congrats! How long is the bed? It's hard to find a quad cab with a 6' bed. I don't like those shorty beds where the rear wheel rests on the tail gate.

6 1/2' bed. The two options for the super crew (what Ford calls a quad cab), 5 1/2' and 6 1/2'. You have to get into the F-250+ sized trucks to get a super crew with an 8' bed.

Can't beat that 4.9L... you have to try to kill them!

Man, the ford is on my short list. My tundra has 230k and still going. I heard the 2016 tundra's will have the cummins v8 diesel available. decisions, decisions.
