• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

New to the te 610

Hi everyone I'm new to the forum and a 2000 te 610 that I just bought, and have a question or more. The guy I bought it off said it runs but needs a new counter balance shaft so I did some reading up and found some tell tail signs. 1 top engine mount has one bolt missing and one bit slack and you can see where it has been moving. 2 clutch basket nut was slack and the main springs in the bottom of basket have been moving as the rivet washers are worn (can they be replaced).
I've turned the nut just to the top right side of clutch will I have put any thing out of timing.
The bike has supermoto wheels on now and shows 17km on clock but not sure if true.
Any help and info much appreciated.

Loose top engine mount bolts are common and a major vibration problem.

If the clutch hub nut and basket rivets are loose, someone was doing work on your bike that was over their pay grade.

Google up Indy's 610 Clutch Spring Washers, 610 clutch hub bushing and also Husky 610 timing chain.

There is also a good forum for the 2000 era 610s on the Adventure Rider Forum.
:)

if its still vibrating a lot after fixing the engine mount bolts it is likely the woodruff key. Lots of info on it. I am 905 sure it is a number 9 key. You don't want to be doing to much riding with it until you check they key is still in place.
