  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

hello from sunny England. i've been thinking of starting ridding again after i retired from racing three years ago. i rode four strokes towards the end of racing and to be fair i became bored. anyway i was reading a copy of motocross action just last week and there was an article about buying 2 strokes and re-building them. they chose a kx 125 and bored it to 144. it got me thinking, and i started to check ebay to see what was around. i found this 2008 husky cr 125 for the low sum of £720. i purchased it and now the re-build begins

the original ebay photos where terrible and the bike is far better that i thought. as an added bonus it has been a well prepped race bike in the past. i shall strip the motor over the next few weeks. there are some parts missing from the carb (slider needle spring) no idea why lol and i need radiator and fork guards.
can anyone recommend a good supplier of oem parts here in the uk.
im hoping the buzz of a 125 will give me the boost i need to race again:)

Welcome, what a cheap bike, £720! You'd have paid more than twice that for a Yam or KTM. Husky Sport or SS Racing are both good sources for genuine parts but there are a couple of chaps on eBay who advertise loads of bits for Husky's, lots of models share many of the parts.

Hi

welcome to the forum

the bike is indeed a good priced one.

what are you riding? track or single trail?

there are few nice mods out there depending what you want to do.

transforming it to a 144 is nice but a 165 is nicer :D and a 177 is in development

hey guys
northern center motocross meetings for me. i have found a very helpful husqvarna dealer quite close to me here in Cumbria http://www.southlakesoffroad.co.uk/
as far as mods go im over 13 stone and im a little worried the 125 may struggle and its been a long time since i rode a tiddler. im yet to check over the top end but if any work is needed it would be rude not to go 165. who could help me with this :D

Send Kelly @ Motosportz a pm or e-mail. He will get you fixed up with all the details. You send me your top end and I do the work and return. If you don't want a long down time I can build you one with a core charge that would be refunded when I receive your parts. Several riders in the UK with the 165.

what a result, popped the head off today as you never know what nastiness lies within and find this

av done a quick check and its a 144cc +1 with new piston and sleeve.
I've not started it yet as i like to prep things properly before use.
I've noticed there is a wire hanging loose and which appears to be connected to the kill switch

question is what should it connect to?

Most logic for me is that you connect it to the frame and see if it starts

if not check your kill switch button for a proper functioning
