  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

New To Me 07 TE 450

Husqvarna
AA Class
After spending the last few days going through my 07 te 450 i have a few questions and few things ive found along the way.

Here's what ive found so far chain adjuster bolts both seized solid and it took about three hours to free them both off with out breaking them.

Both front and rear wheel bearings are noisey but no play but they just feel bad, So they will be replaced with new bearings and seals and wheel spacers.

Bash plate cap head bolts rounded off under the back off the motor, two hours wasted there trying to get bash plate off.

The one thats got me so far hidden underneath the bash plate foam the engine oil sump plug has been rounded off. How tight do these get ? i haven't done a oil change yet as the motor oil is still fresh.

Lower chain roller worn, easy to replace just a bit of a pain. And every other bolt seems never to been undone so everything has been spayed with wd40 to stop the bolts from snapping.
Lastly i just have to replace the seat cover as there a few minor tears.

What mods are reccomended for the 450. And what sort of gas mileage can i expect from full tank.
Is there anything else i should do to the bike. Sorry for such along post

Not sure what you mean about the engine oil sump plug - possibly the engine oil drain plug that has a magnet on it? If so, it really isn't necessary to remove that to change the oil - just lean the bike a bit when the 2 screens are out on the left side of the bike. 7602 Racing makes a nice kit that makes changing the oil easier. http://www.7602racing.com/husqvarna_te_tc_txc_sm_450_510.php

Depends on how you would ride the bike, but I've gotten 70mpg with my 2006 TE250 riding super slow off road, which is almost the same bike - so maybe 45-50mpg for you?
