  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hello everyone
my last ride was a honda crf 250x. I am concidering a
a new 2010 te250. My question is does the new te250 have the same type of bottom end power as the honda. Most of my riding is done in south new jersey in the sand in tight trails.
I am a b level rider.would also consider a te310. Any answers to my questions would be greatfull. Thanks gregg

Hey Gregg,
If you are not thinking of plating your bike I would consider a TXC 250 before a TE.
Both would hold their own against your Honda's bottom end power.

I need the te because of getting a plate to ride enduros. I
also ride in state forrests and need the plate. The state of new jersey is really cracking down on this.

The TE 250 has a great motor bottom to top.. But does not have the heavy feel like the Honda X does.

Yes,

The plated one off the show room floor for New jersey and other states that are keeping up with the NL type bikes by far the best dollar for dollar the right choice.. and when it comes time to resale.. you will see it even pay off more..

Who you dealing with for a dealer ???

Chow, Carl

When i buy one toy tech in grantvillle pa. I think i know you guys from the
ecea. Lenson rides harescrambles ? High mountian dirt riders ? Mike soudas ?

Good choice on dealer ... Lenson the eldest 73+ was the last to start racing,, Actual name for my dad is Leonard Sr.. Shop name is Lensons(Len and 3 sons =Lenson) .. Some call him Lenny, Lenny Lenson, Lenson Rehatchek, Len Lenson... you get the point..lol

My Son Kyle and I are from the Enduro side of the ECEA and My Nephew(Len III) is on the Hare Scrambles side of the ECEA.

Once the bike is un-corked it will definitely have more power than the CRF 250X even with Spark Arrestor in. A friend I ride with just did a stroked CRF 320X which I have not gotten to ride yet. Someone who has ridden my '10 TXC 250 and the 320 felt mine would hang with it in most places.

Bought one of the first FI bikes off the boat from Toy Tech in 1/08 - a TE 250 and can't say enough good about them. (Luckily I'm only 15 minutes away - I'm not in NJ) They made good on a few warrenty items and even got me the new kickstand for free. They also did the Athena upgrade last year and worked with Husky USA when we had some issues. A++ dealer and service.

Hi,

So if I was looking at a 2010 TE250 or TE310 would I be better off getting the 250 plus the 310 cylinder kit since the TE250 seems to have a few upgrades over the 310?

In 2010 the 250 is a brand new motor, I'm not sure it there is a 310 kit for it.

The 2010 310 is similar to the previous years. 2009 250s could have a 310 kit installed.

The press have all said the new 250 motor significantly lacks bottom end. At the risk of pilfering this post are you TE/TC 250 owners out there happy with the motor and are the press wrong.

Husqvarna has a PN for a 310 kit and larger tank for the 2K10 TE250. I was looking at the better front suspension as a plus but I'm an older dog and don't really rev my XT350 much. e-start would be a real plus and the 50 or so less pounds. OK, I could lose some of that weight off my carcass but I can still pick my self up, its getting the bike up right again that could be easier.

I did not know about the 2010 310 kit, thanks!

I am an old dog that likes estarts as well, and could loose a few lbs....

so what are we saying here lads,is there a 310 kit for the new style tc/txc/te 2010 engine,

They list the 250 to 310 kit as PN COD.8000H1111, looks like cylinder, piston, gasket, ecu.

11.5 liter tank (2.5 gal?) PN COD 8000H1304.

Go to the Husqvarna site and download the pdf under "collections" on the left. I'm assuming (yes I know) that the catalogue is for 2k10 models.

Now to further complicate, I see some very good discounts on '09 TE310, are the '10 ungrades substantial enough to warrant somewhere in the neighborhood of a grand?

You mean this? It says MY09, as in model year 2009, but yes the Special Parts catalog is titles '2010', right above this part of the pdf is a 530 kit for the TE/SM510 2006/7 also:

It has been stated that the 2010 250f will not have a 310 kit available, the motor was not designed for it.

edit - the tank is listed for the earlier than 2010 TE/SMRs
