  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

What do I need to know about this bike. Just got it. Went through the owners manual and it was very comprehensive.

Anything you may think will help a newbie to huskies. Btw. They're awesome image.jpg

there are tons of different opinions about oils...amsoil, klotz, motul, belray, golden spectro all will protect your motor just fine with proper jetting and the ratio your manual tells you to run..honestly, i like the smell of klotz the best so i have run it quite awhile at 40 to 1 in anything 2 cycle i own. bikes, grass trimmers, and chainsaws. amsoil would be my second choice. most everything made by amsoil is good. i use their 10w30 motorcycle engine oil in my bottom ends. just about any oil that is jaso ma rated that is close to the recommended weight will do fine. jaso rated means it will work fine with a wet clutch, altho there are oils without this rating that work as well. good luck!

I luv the 08 WR250 threads .. I have the perfect one... Its a one kicker and never runs out of power unless the rider makes a mistake. Stock except for the pipe as far as I know ... And that small metal piece in the second pic ... Not sure what it is but it does help the bike pull better at the bottom end ..

Put what ever you want for tranny oil in the bike... You be one unlucky person if you pick the wrong oil for a 2t tranny oil...

I pimped this bike at the races and rode trails on it between races last yr ... I told my rider, 'I don't think you can break this bike in one yr' ... Not sure if he believed me at first, but by race 4-5, he was on-board.

Whatever that metal piece is came with my bike and fits in the CARB on the air box side... I forgot to put it back in day and during the next ride, I noticed that before the pipe came into play at the lower RPMs, the power felt much weaker with it removed.

Good luck with your bike and your riding ;)

I learned a long time ago, set up the suspension to YOU!
Its amazing how much faster you go on stock bikes

Its an air striker from fmf supposed to sort out airflow to have smoother entrance into carb, must be something to them if you noticed a difference.
