  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

New TE511-owner. Hi!

Hi all!

Just got a 2011 TE511 with 320 km on the odo. :-) It was not ridden at all by the first owner and the second one bought it last summer but found out it was not for him. And now it's mine!

Got the Akrapovic muffler with it together with a pair of brand new studded tyres for winter riding.

I tried finding a good write up on the power up plug because it really feels constipated in its current state.

I read somewhere that you could fabricate your own plug. What hardware do you need and are there any instructions available?

I was riding a KTM 625 for many years and the size of the Husky is similar. Also had a KTM 200 for a short while before it got stolen recently so I will guard this one with a shotgun!

Cheers!

Welcome aboard! Glad you're on the way to pure enjoyment. I've got over 3300kms on mine and it's ripping right along.

Great to hear! Still waiting to get out on my first proper test of the bike.

Right now I'm searching around the web for add-ons like stirdy handguards, I like the Zeta Armor, a good aluminum bash plate to start with. Larger tank and seat later on, maybe. :-)

ahak, Cycra Probend handguard is better, stronger, IMHO. I have Zeta with XC protectors and Cycra for comparison. Now I use Cycra handguards, U-clamps + XC Pro plastic protectors. :) Also in Zeta Racing Catalog have good precision 2..3-finger unbreakable levers for our Brembo. I have them (by Touratech brand).
P.S. You can buy good skid plate from Touratech (Germany).

Thanks for your recommendations! I had Zetas at my previous bike and really liked them. Good fit and strong. If you say the Cycra are better I will look into them.
Just got a rear fender to replace/save the stock one. I don't think it will survive for very long offroad...

Spent a few minutes today putting on some custom graphics. Was inspired by a nice looking Husky so I made something similar but at the rear of the side cover. I like it![

Congrats! I just picked my like new TE511 up in May. Mine was decatted with the ZipTy BMW map 3 flash per the original owner.

The lady at the DMV argued with me that Husqvarna makes motorcycles. She had a Husqvarna zero-turn mower, and thought I was trying to pull one over on her. She did let me get my tag, but told me that she'd be checking my story out on the Internet.

Mine is going though a motard conversion currently. Just got notification that my 17" wheels, tires, and trail tech shipped today. Warp 9 must be having trouble keeping up with the orders.

I already installed the ZipTy oil recirculation kit and magnetic oil filter cover, added a ignition key and clutch switch delete from sicass racing, put new grips, a SMR short kickstand, SMR front fender, and have been messing with cheap "custom" graphics.
