  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

New te 511

Hey guys just bought a te 511 a few weeks ago happy with the bike so far got the power commander and exhaust before I got it has plenty of power. I've noticed when on the road it seems to be very touchy and get the wobbles easily I've read that a steering damper might help this ?. The other thing to is after riding today I've noticed oil spraying out of the air box onto the head , had a quick read of a few things just wondering what way to go is and oil catch can or a hose to run it out fine ? Or is it a serious problem ? Thanks in advance

The bike is a little twitchy, but if your getting actual wobble, steering head bearing adjustment, or wheel
Runout should be checked. Remember you have rimlocks and less than optimal tires. (dirtbike)
The oil issue, is only run about 1 liter/qt. in the bike. The 1150cc causes it to spew into the airbox.
There are mods for this too. Tinken/Zipty has a cool one. I am not big on steering dampeners, but
I think I will soon be putting one of motosportz on soon, as they do help stabilize, and his is pretty.
I really like my 2012, and there is a lot of good info here. Some of these guys are very sharp on the huskys.
Welcome and good luck on the new bike.

I had this steering wobble, even with a Scott's stabilizer locked down. I switched to a Golden Tyre 216HB front and lowered my rear shock an additional 5mm. Steering wobble has completely disappeared, at all speeds.
