  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

New Tc 250

gestion01

Husqvarna
A Class
Bought a new TC250 today.

I will be keeping it as stock as possible. Finished playing with revalves, big bores, pipes and bling.

I need to know if like the 2008 450' there is a list for ''tunning'' like changing the crossover radiator hose or the rubbing rear brake line on the case 'n' such. Carb settings...?jd kit? little stuff that make it more reliable or run better.

Congrats! We have settled on 180 Main, 40 Pilot, 3 rd clip, and 1 - 1/2 turns out. My son just got his suspension back yesterday from LTR and we bolted up back up last night. Stock the front was a lttle soft after break in on a MX track. We will all be getting a update carb kit from Husky so for now we are holding off on the JD jet kit. The hoses look great to us and we haven't noticed any rubbing. We do know an exhaust will wake it up at the top and carry it out but we haven't figured which one he will be getting. Overall it's an awesome machine.

Awesome! I thought you may have gotten a leftover 2008 or something, hence the question about the year. Be sure to get the new carb update kit. Husky is also offering a factory remote/bar mounted hot start lever. I picked up the lever and my carb update kit and a Leo Vince exhaust this week and will be installing soon. I'll report results when I can. Good luck and happy riding!

Thanks guys!

So the carb update is it a recall or an option? I know the dealer says there's 2 recalls, one flywheel torque and another I don't remember.

As for the mods, I've put a lot of them on my wr125. And honestly I can't say it's any better than a stock bike. It may even be not as good. I kinda now feel we get into our heads we need all this stuff done. When in fact factory testing is what works best.

Obviously some things like the radiator crossover hose is something that needed to be done on my tc450, so was the jetting and the rubbing brake hose. The list provided by Scott Summers was great. We should build one for the new 250.

Call your dealer. The carb upgrade is warranty and they should have already contacted you.

Dirt rider April edition, they had a clutch problem with there test bike...

Any of you have any issues? they say the husky techs needed to punch wholes in the washers/basket??

Anyone contemplate installing a rekluse core? That's one mod I have been totally satisfied on my tc450 (rekluse pro). But the txc250 I tested was easy to ride without stalling and also has little engine breaking...compared to the 450.

What are you going to do with your 144? Might have an interested party.

Walt

PS, mine absolutely rips now with the PWK

Congrats Pat. There is a warranty update on the waterpump impeller and now the carb settings. Make sure you get both done ASAP. I have the carb update kits in stock.

Oh cripes... what is the pump impeller update? Can you tell us on the forum? Is it locktite on the nut? The BMW deal seems to have HURT Husky in the grand scheme of things. I shoulda kept my '09 TXC 250. I'm seriously ready to rebuild the motor in my '71 Hodaka ACE 100 and ride something I know is 100% bulletproof.

Thanks again guys. I have my TC450 for sale. I will be sorry to see her go  It's a great bike, ultra reliable. I have it dialed perfect.

Keeping the wr144 wally, but ain't investing any more mods on it :busted:

It's going to be my 1-2 gear, tight riding bike. I will play with the springs and hopefully get some snap. I will attempt to qualify for the Montreal supercross endurocross race with it. It also has lights for enduros.

So far there are three updates, 2 we already knew about.

Torque flywheel, waterpump and carb (I guess that's just needle and jets).

What about a potential clutch issue?

Update...

Uncrated this afternoon, just finished assembly. Just fired up. Still need to set sag, grease linkage 'n' such.

The Good:

There seems to be no clearance issues unlike the 2 other husky I own.

Overall fit and finish as improved. Even compared to my 09' wr125. castings are cleaner, better finish on hubs ect..I'd say it's as clean looking as any new ktm.

Nice little skid plate, one bolt and it's off. It's a MX bike after all and any ''free'' skid plate is nice to have.

Brembo clutch setup, that probably means no more magura piston issues. But my arc lever will not fit on that side.

Stock Pirellis, same as my tc450 came on. I like 'em.

Radiator guards off the 08' tc450 fit Ok without anything special.

The less inspiring...

Not much yet, but bike was very hard to start, I cranked it at least 15 minutes before it fired up and it quickly died. Another 10 minutes before I got it started again. Then once hot it fired back up in about 5 kicks. I'm assuming it's new and my starting skills are lame. For the record, I can start my TC450 in under 3 kicks in any weather.

It's stiff, I mean the engine is really tight, I think this bike needs at least 10 hours to get loose. That's when the ride report will follow!

Did you prime the carb with the throttle before kicking all that time? When the bikes are brand new they pump is dry.

Just in case you missed the kicking ritual: Just kick over easy until the kick start gets hard on top dead center, then kick a tick past it, bring the kick start back up and just give a smooth kick not too fast. My bike was actually fun to see how slow you could kick.

Yeah the engines are super tight as in when you hit the kill switch it is a instant stop. It will get better with some time on it. Can't wait to hear a ride report.

Yeh our was super tight, even after a few hours riding its still tight! Husky obviously use tighter tolerances internally than the japs, which is a good thing.

Ours was quite hard to start cold at first but got better, but starting hot is awesome, 1 kick and shes away!
