• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hello All, I am a total newbie to Husqvarna, but after riding my buddies supermoto i was hooked... Went out and bought a 2011 SMS630 and I've been reading about power up kits and removing all the emission BS. I need help what to remove and where to buy the parts to complete the Power up.
Forgive me for my igorance... i've been riding in-lines for too long and i have just seening the light.

Thanks in advance
Alex

Power Up parts can be purchased from your dealer. Here are the part numbers:

8000A7724, Oxygen Sensor Plug
8000A7749, Gasket, O2 Sensor Plug
8000A6750, Oxygen Sensor Connector

The procedure is the same as for the 610, which can be read about here:

http://www.rickramsey.net/TE610mods.htm#lambdasensor

If your bike still has that ridiculous charcoal canister hanging on it, that can also be removed:

http://www.rickramsey.net/TE610mods.htm#canister

There is stuff in this thread that also works for the 630:

http://www.cafehusky.com/threads/living-with-a-2010-husky-te-510.6249/

See references to the "strange octopus attacking it" where he removes the charcoal canister.

You also want to open up the airbox and pull this thing out:

I'll send you a PM to get you hooked up with the shop manual.

X2 on a shop manual please.
Thanks!

I have a package of resistors if you just want to install your own resistor. I bought them at radio shack but they come in a package of five so I could mail you the resistor for free. Also I would take your tank off first before buying anything. My SMS 630 came stock with the power up kit. It had .6 miles when I got it and I know I am the only owner. Also I asked the dealer and they did not know anything about the power up kit being installed and said it must be something Husky is doing. I just purchased a powercommander V and will be trying to get mine tuned but as of right now I would say to buy the JD Jetting instead of the Powercommander. (Just my opinion) You may also want to look for a TE 630 ECU as I have heard they make the bike run a lot better. I hope to find one and maybe trade in this powercommander before the time is up if I can not get it tuned better.

I built my powerup kit. Cut the plug off the o2 sensor and solder the resistor onto the white wires. I tired pushing the resistor into the plug but that didnt work well. I highly recommend getting the JD tuner right away. Makes it a different bike with real power. Cam.

Thanks after digging I found and printed the book,my bike only came with a book that basicly showed specs and how to use the speedo. No zip drive either (I would like to know what was on there).
I already did the PU stuff no help and emission remove, snorkle remove and the baffle in the air box.
This thing could not get the front wheel up if it fell off a mountain!

After the pi kit you need to use ibeat to adjust the bike. Also if you go back to the google link with the manual you will find the zip drive file in misc. Be sure to really look around in that link. There are many helpful files. The ibeat communication cable can be purchased from semco designs. Your dealer may have it and if you are lucky they may just let you use it for free. My dealer unfortunately charges seventy five dollars an hour. So I just bought the cable.

I am going to get a TE ecm and the Ibeat software and knock the rod out of that bitch.
If I cant get it to run like I want I will put a CR500 motor in it and be done!

I like your way of thinking. I was riding my YZ 450F prior to my SMS 630. I loved riding it and was so disappointed in this bike. I know that one of the reasons I purchased this bike was for reliability. The stroke is longer than the quick revving 450 but it still should run better. I have been looking for a TE ECU but have not tried buying one directly from Husky. If you buy one or check on it let me know the cost from your dealer. Also be sure you are looking at the link where you got the manual at the very bottom of the list is part of what you need. It only took three days to get my Ibeat cable from SEMCO. GOOD LUCK, Steve.

One thing you might try if you did not do this already is disconnect the negative cable on the battery. Un plug and replug your O2 Sensor delete. Then plug the battery in. Be sure it was at least 30 seconds to 1 minute. Turn on the key and make sure the kill switch is on so the fuel pump cycles. Open the throttle slowly from closed to full open and slowly back to closed. This will re set the TPS. And with your unplug and replug of the O2 sensor it should set the ECU to 100% on the three fuel values or what has been referred to as race mode. This should help to pull the front wheel up in first gear but without a programmer it falls off pretty quick when you shift to second. Again Good Luck and keep your progress up to date, Steve.

Don't forget to drill some holes in the airbox. With the JD I am adding about 25% more fuel up top to make it run fast and wheelie. That is quite a bit. Cam.

With the JD, you can add up to 30% fuel in the three zones, or subtract up to 12%. This, of course, is on top of whatever your ECU settings are if it's been put on I-beat. Each half-step on the JD is 3%.
The next two settings are to change the RPM/Throttle point where it transitions from Low-Mid and from Mid-High.
The last setting is acceleration enrichment, which lets you adjust the throttle response from mellow to snappy.
