• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Good evening all, I just purchased a 09 sm610 with 7700 miles on it. I want to check the cct but am not sure exactly how to, I read a bit and am still a bit confused. Can I just unbolt the middle bolt then the other two then count the clicks?

Also it has a Leo Vince slip on installed but also came with the stock one. The lv is installed right now, but there is no o2 sensor installed, just a plug screwed in. Is this safe? I'm told it may have had the power up kit, but there wasn't any definitive info, how can I tell?

Thanks for your help!

Yes, then before you re-install it press the release and push the adjuster back.

Theres a plug under the tank, it will either have a resistor put in it or a small box plugged in. I put the resistor in mine and gutted the original can.

Also, buy a decent drive chain and sprockets and throw the OEM in the bin, ASAP

Thanks for the answer.

Are there any other engine upgrades? maybe a cam change to add a little more power up top? are PCV worth the money on these bikes?

My 2009 SM610 is bone stock except for the power up kit and a LV slip-on. Runs strong. I like the stock gearing too.
These are great bikes. I'm keeping my eyes peeled for another one. Mine has just over 3000 miles on the odo. She's still has a lot of life left in her.
