• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

New or used TE510?

Husqvarna
AA Class
Ok

Should I go for a used 07 TE510 with minimal extras for 4k
Or a new 09 for 7K out the door?

Thanks for any usefull input.

Interesting choices.
07 has a carb and no fuel pump
09 has efi & fuel pump, the efi on those work decent enough

Then there is also a 2010 - the last year for that motor and Mikuni efi
the 2011 with the new '511' motor & Keinin efi.

Not sure what the correct decision would be for you.

The 2010 has a few nice things the 09 doesnt. Better cage around fuel pump to keep it from slipping, better lights front and back, tank shrouds have impregnated graphics to fix the sticker one falling off on older models, slightly better residual value etc. Tho if you can get an 09 for under $6500 new, it would be worth wile, and the other stuff is pretty minor. Both are great bikes though.

An 09 510 for under $6500 new would be a steal.

But really... looks like George @ Up-tite is less than an hour from you...why not just drive over and take a look at what he has to offer.

I'd call, it is New Years eve. I've no idea what hours George may have today.. Maybe he could do something extra before the end of the year, I'm not sure how it works with bikes, but car dealers are always anxious to sell cars before the end of the year.
