  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hey guys new here, new to huskies paid 5999. tax in for my 2011 txc 449 here in st johns newfoundland canada.Figured i would try something new and different instead of what everyone squaks about around here like honda or kawi nothing against them just dont care as long as the bike is fun and easy to work on.Any thing to check, tighten, change, adjust, lube, cutoff, jump on,look at sideways etc before i really get riding?

JD tuner and a revalve for suspension. Rode my TXC one time with stock suspension. Rear end was slapping my ass over whoops and front end was harsh. Sent mine to ZipTy racing and Ty shortened rear shock and resprung and revalved front and rear. Night and day difference!!

Real solid bike that does not come loose like the older huskys IMHO. Always check rear sprocket bolts on huskys. Also the new wheels are not as solid as the older ones and you need to check you spokes periodically. The Husky hard parts gas cap and oil filter cap make life EZer. The Seat Concepts seat is awesome for these bikes. The JD tuner and more open muffler wake the motor up big time. The TE has nice soft suspension (almost to soft) and thre TXC has to stiff for most. A revalve / respring is always the best mod you can do to a bike. Enjoy.

Oh, don't learn this the hard way... DO NOT over fill with with oil. When it heats up there will be to much and it will puke it out the breather onto your air filter. Run it just below the bottom of the sight glass, then ride it till fully warm and check it. Keep it near the bottom of the sight glass. This is one of the biggest issues with this bike. Fighting the oil height.

Now enjoy :>)
