• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

No matter how off this brand is or how hard the parts are to get,,when you break a part or whatever happens take care of the person that put a paycheck in your hand... HYR-H of Redlands,Ca....

I am a bit confused, are you unhappy with your dealer?
Sorry Coffee,, yes my experience has been bad,,typed slower than i was thinking...We all work very hard ,,for our hard earned money,, unhappy with my dealer ya you can say that,, I hate when dealers try to take advantage!!! :censored:

Well you could draw a whole lot of attention to the issue, but keep in mind that dealers are going through pure hell at the moment with the transition...

^ True,

I'll add that I've had a few bad experiences with dealers in the past. In fact, that's the very reason I bought a 2 stroke husky. I wanted something simple/easy to work on. I sure got just that!

I always try to support (husky) dealers first, but in the past couple years they just can't source parts. I will say, they've been jerked around by bmw, and now the transition to whatever ktm does with them.

I think this is mainly just in canada tho, and actually a couple husky dealers were really helpful/easy to deal with. Albeit a few years ago ScottyR from Ross Rocher and Southwest Motorrad (R.I.P)

I've had only great experiences with my dealer. Shameless plug!! Hall's Cycles in Springfield, Il USA 217-789-0107 halls-cycles.com. They have exceeded normal expectations, have an extensive inventory of parts and are honest. And there are many other great Husky dealers. So no offense, but if you're that upset at them, you should either offer up specifics of the incident to give the bad plug some credibility, or quitely spend your money with another known great dealer (many sponsor this site). It may have been an unintentional bad moment for them, too.

I've been over this sooo many times with the GM,Parts manager and owner of HYR-HUSKY of Redlands,Ca. that im sick to death of this situation,,the tech finally fess'd up to the problem.. All i get is a bike back in pieces and sorry sir we'll order that new part that the tech broke,,,no we'll take care of you and here's you money back...THIS IS BULL%$#*... DO NOT SHOP AT HYR OF REDLANDS,CA.. THIER CROOKS PERIOD and on the way to giving Husky a bad rap for service****************************************!!

Well, since this is more of a general discussion, I'll move it over to General..
2st -> General (Main)

Chris down at Moto-Forza in Escondido once pulled a kick start lever of bike just so I could get back to moto-ing in a hurry. He didn't have to, but he did.

Granted, Redlands is a bit far from Escondido (well over an hour and even longer if you take the dreaded 215), but there are some solid guys around.

Thanks guy's for your input,,i think i have it cove'rd but i'll leave nothing to chance,,you all are the best****************************************
