• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Never say never.

I suppose it was inevitable. Once I got bit by the street riding bug I fell for it big time. I once vowed I would NEVER ride on the road. I'm turning 50 next Monday and I absolutely refuse to act like it!

Congratulations! Woo hoo, there's nothing like a Kawasaki! I mean of course, unless it's a Husqvarna!

Let us know how the bike does. I was looking at one the other day to replace my VFR800. It is now paid off and I don't know how to ride something I'm not making payments on. Dealers seem to love me....

Those are cool but you know i don't have a stabilizer for it

Nice grab, have fun and be careful. Happy B-day.

My buddy picked this exact bike up today because he got tired of reading my street ride reports while he sits home. If you want more ride buddies just text pix from a cool street ride while they sit at home. Works every time

What is it with the opposing twins? They seem to run forever. I still catch Honda CX500's doing courier work. Those things must have a couple of hundred thousand on them. Old Guzzis, BM's.
The 1000 is waaaaaaay too much bike for me, but the styling is awesome. I rode a demo on one and barely made it to the end of the parking lot before I knew it wasn't "old man friendly". :D
Yeah I can understand...I will ride my dirt bike with reckless abandon in the woods, but I bought a ZX-6R a couple of years ago...fixed it all up & then couldn't ride a sportbike like I used too....Kids, age & needing to work wouldn't let me into any kind of a comfort zone at speed. The motard on the other hand is really cool becuse you can carve anything and keep the speed in check. Happy B'day, take it slow & have fun!!!
The Guzzi up there got me thinking about my favorite MG's

Congrats. that's kinda how I got here. Grew up in the dirt, but after multiple knee surgeries, kids and work I was relegated to the street. Now 51, and the back and hips can't take the R-1, so a good dual sport made a lot of sense (at least to me). But I sure do miss the rush of letting 1000 CC's scream down the highway entrance ramp.

I looked at the Guzzi's, but the price.... OUCH!!!

We did a quick ride yesterday after work. The Guzzi is cool and surprisingly hangs with my FJ1200 in a drag race pretty good. He got it for 5K and it only has 6400 miles (2006 model) on it and looks like new, literally.
