  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I have a 2010 TXC250 and it died has I was riding it like it was running out of gas. You can power it on and off and few times it runs for a few seconds and then dies out. I hooked it up to my I-beat program and it shows a sensor source "low value code 0340". But what else shows up is there is no throttle response. I've tried to reset/recal the TPS but it keeps showing tps failure. I've checked all wires and all is good. It seems to be my TPS sensor but can not get the sensor it a whole throttle body. If anyone has any input it would be great help. Before dropping 500.00 plus on new throttle body.

Maybe your fuel pump has come loose inside the tank? I've heard that sometimes when this happens the fuel pump will float to the top and give those symptoms.

The 2010 txc 250 was the first year of EFI. When I have I-Beat hooked up it shows that i'm not twisting the throttle.

I know you said you checked the wiring, but could it be somewhere else besides the obvious places you probably checked? In a loom somewhere?

I'm cheap, I would probably try to locate someone with a compatible throttle body and see if they would let you borrow it - to test that throttle body on your bike.
Or just go to a dealer that could do that level of debugging before ordering a new throttle body.

There are things you can check before spending big money, the most appropriate is bare wires that could be grounding/interfering with the proper operation of the electrical fueling components.

I have a voltmeter and a set of pigtails to test wiring. I followed the wiring diagram from Husky and tested from the ECU connector to every color wire to where it plug into a sensor or another connector and they all OHM"d out. I checked the fuel pump in and out of the tank and already have it wiring tied in. It all comes down to no volts from the TPS sensor when twisting throttle. I've tried to recalibrate it with my I-Beat program and no matter how I try to reset it....it comes up failure to recalibrate TPS.
