  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Husqvarna
AA Class
Gentlemen,
I bought a '12 TE310 from Long Beach Husqvarna/BMW and it has been great. My wife bought a '12 TE250 at the same time. This was December '12. Right off the bat the TE250 blew out blew smoke. We took the bike back to the dealer for warrenty work. The motor was torn down and a rep from Husky flew in from Italy. On his word work was performed and the bike was returned to us. In January '13 we once again returned the bike for blowing smoke. The bike has sat there ever since. The dealer has followed the requirements of Husky and still the bike is not good. Now the dealer is waiting for Husky to give an answer as to what to do. The dealer wants a new bike outright to give to my wife, or a new motor at the very minimum. Husky is not anwering the phone. We were advised to call the Husky customer relations department and make some complaints. The Long Beach Husky/BMW dealer is a great place and has been helping us the entire time. We want the bike back and for it to work as advertised. Do any of you know a phone number or a way to get this resolved?
Thanks.

I have read in other threads that Husky NA(North America) has been helping people out. Maybe with the recent sale of Husky there is a temporary lack of responsibility?

We called Husky NA today along with the dealer. Turns out that Husky NA now has the bike and is determining what to do. Still waiting. Hope they do the right thing, this is so frustrating. Thanks for the help****************************************!!

Husky looked at the problem, which has been at the dealers since January, and they also had a tech rep look at it previously, and replaced the entire top end. Jug and head. They took it back to the dealer THE NEXT DAY. The dealer had a couple of different people ride it around for a few days to insure there were no more problems. So when we called Last Friday (5 April) we were told it was ready for pickup. Our question before we pick it up is if Husky will honor the warrenty for the next 6 months, like a brand new bike (which this is) since the bike has been in the shop the entire time. Before we pick it up we want an answer to the question. Again Long Beach Husqvarna/BMW has worked with us the entire time and kept us in the loop. They have been just as frustrated as us. They are a very good customer oriented dealer, in my opinion. Now we just have to see if Husky honors the original warrenty. If so we will pick it up ASAP. Need to get some riding in****************************************!

After 4 months in the shop the bike is back home. My wife picked it up today and Long Beach BMW/Husky had ballons set up and a gift card and some other swag for her since she was patient, understanding and didn't hound them. That shop is very customer oriented and I would recommend them to everyone. One, if not the best, dealership I've ever been too. There's been no word as to a warrenty extention from Husky though. Still waiting on them. The bike seems to be riding properly, but we need to get 'er into the dirt to find out for sure. The guys at the shop rode it for over a week with no problems and said if anything happened, call immediately. Time to break it in and bullet proof it for the Los Angeles-Barsto-Las Vegas run this Thanksgiving.

That dealership sounds flat out amazing. I hope the bike runs great for your wife here on out. I'd immediately follow a hard break in procedure. Since they were most likely babying it. Get that thing under a load and climb some hills or full throttle high gears from low-3/4 revs a few times. All the info ive read said getting a new motor under a high load like that a few times is really important to seating the rings. change the oil early and often during break in as often times there is alot more clutch and other wear right away leaving more shavings in the oil.
I hope it treats you well! Im sure she'll love it.

She's had a smile on her face since she rolled it back into the garage. This weekend? Dirt****************************************!!!
