  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Need help with 2012 TE310

Friend of mine just bought a 2012 310 4stk with like 12hrs on it. Original owner left gas in the tank for about 2yrs and now the bike will barely run, he has gotten the tank off and tried cleaning the fuel lines but said the fuel pump has sucked some trash in it (he thinks) do these bikes have a in tank filter and a inline filter like KTM's do? He's an older guy and not sure how to clean the fuel system to get it running. Thanks

Hi, I have a 2010 te 250, I have had that fuel system apart many many times!! I believe its pretty much the same set up. First off if you take the tank off, drain gas and on underside of tank in the back there are like 6, 5mm screws that holds the whole assembly in the tank. When you pull it our you should have the mesh screen which draws fuel in towards pump, then into a in-line filter, out of filter and through to the fuel injector. I was having issues with the pump quitting the fuel delivery after I reached like 1/2 tank, So I longer rides by 30 miles the fuel delivery would act up. Sometimes the pump becomes dislodged from the housing (the fix is a zip-ty, or safety wire). I replaced the pump and used a cheap filter and finally on a long trail ride with my son the bike died for good! Had to walk it for miles! I finally quit and used the dealer as I dint have the software to diagnose the problem. My whole point is the Fuel pump /Fuel Injection system can be tricky with these bikes, Turned out my Injector went bad ($200.00) Husqvarna part, The cheap fuel filter had a leak so it wasn't sending enough pressure( fix is a KTM steel in line filter $65.00) and so on, Since then the bike has been fine! So my point is if you can clean everything you should be good to go! Just go to dealer and get a good metal in line filter(KTM) I have receipt with part numbers if need be. Clean the injector but don't be surprised if you have to replace it, I heard you can use a Kawasaki Injector which is like 1/2 the price, (they didn't tell me that till after I paid). Hope this helps a little. The new gas and Dirt Bikes doesn't really mix well, meaning it breaks down and corrodes jets and injectors super easy! Went to the same stuff with my sons current bike, because it had sat for a few years at my friends house till we took it off his hands. Took me a month of working on that carb to finally get it to run properly! Stay with it, and keep me posted. Jim

Little update on this, he got the bike running but it wants to cough and cut out if he chops the throttle when exiting corners. I'm curious if the TPS is out of adjustment? Is there a way to adjust it w/o taking it to a dealer?

I believe the 12 uses the same injector as the earlier TXC 310s. Here is a pic of the 2011 4 point Yellow next to the Kawasaki 12 point Green.
The part number is the SKU for Kawasaki which I'm using in my 2011 TE310 with a PCV fuel + Ignition.
