  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

125-200cc Need help to get this 125 to idle

Hey guys. I just did my 144 kit and put on a new out of the box 38mm Air Striker carb. I can get the bike running and sounds good but the thing will not idle. My time got short working on it tonight so I thought I would see what adjustments you guys thought before I get a chance to work on it again on Monday.
I have a 170 main, 50 pilot and DDK needle in the middle. Air screw is one turn out. Not sure what slide came with it.

Your pilot seems overly large....if its really a 50 you will need to go much smaller....27.5 to 32 pilot is in the ball park...and 144 s tend to need leaner jetting to start with Are you running a PWK ??

A simple test...if your air screw needs to be out more than 2.25 turns then go to next size smaller pilot...or two

have you tried to turn the screw out slowly to see if it will hold an idle...after that the needle is generally a seat of the pants adjustment and sometimes the slide comes into play....

main jet is by color of plug and also by feel...to an extent

Lots of guys have 144 kits on here....and they are more finicky to jet as a rule...

you will get plenty of input here......:notworthy:

say there troy.........he said he IS running a Air Styker which IS a PWK so if he puts in a 30 ish like a TMX it will be waaaay lean. He is in the ballpark with the jetting he lists for a PWK. True what you say on the AS and pilot relationship though. Husky 125 or 144 got to be warmed up thouroughly before fiddling though.
