  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Need help te511

Some of you may remember my te511 puking its oil problem, so far they have replaced the injector, fuel pump and checked for blow-by/compression. Oil volume is ever increasing and smells of fuel, this then leads to oil puking all over the exhaust and my leg. The dealer tried to give it back today saying they don't know what is wrong basically just live with it! I have had the bike 9 mos and out of that its been in the shop for 6 weeks the rest of the time it sits in my garage cause I am afraid of damaging a 9k$ bike. I am looking for advice/ideas and maybe a contact number for husky usa since their website has no contact numbers, or dealers in the usa! any help appreciated -thanks

Ive only heard of one 511 with this symptom...and IIRC it was missing a ring or ring expander spring....but that ought to show up in a compression test I would think.

The "old" Husqvarna website is http://www.heroesridehuskys.com/index.html and it does have a contact form.
There are 3 Husky dealers in Oregon....have you tried another one?

I seem to recall hearing that if you put the recommended amount (or go by the sight glass) of oil in, that it essentially overfills it and creates what sounds like a similar problem to what you've described… I'm not sure of the details, though.

Yes, but he's talking about an increasing amount of fluid that smells like gas. The 'too full' problem is easy to fix with a ZipTy breather (and maybe tank) but if he really is getting gas in the oil that is another matter.
