  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hello, a few of you have seen my posts, been riding my whole life but new to huskys, I just bought this bike 2 months ago as a 2005 tc450 according to the po. Looking at it I know it's not a tc but definately a te has it has 6 gears and a steel exhaust. My other notice is I have the 50mm shivers on the front verified with calipers, I thought those only came on 06? I know 06+ bikes are 50 state legal but mine ha a ca carb sticker so I assume it is an 05, did someone switch the front end over or do I have an 06? Any help please!!

Thanks, I should be more clear that it's not an sm, I bought it with 18/21 and added these Ktm 17's for dual purpose riding

My TE 450 which I bought brand new in March of 2007 is registered as a 2007 model, although the build tag says it's a 2006. It definitely looked exactly like a 2007 model though.

Build year and model year are often different. An 06 build can be an 07 model. 05's and 06's were both carby models. Only modest model updates at that time around clutch and suspension. Think you have an 06 model there.

Ok, ya I wish there was an easy way to check that. I looked at the vin and it says 05 but who knows at this point!
