  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I went from wr300 to a ktm 200 and now I think I want a 2013 wr 125 wondering if anyone has gone from the 200 to the wr and what they think of the change also what should I plan on for need to do upgrades to it like jetting or pipe or other things I would put the 144 topend on it for starters but any info would be great thanks in advance

I went from a 510 to a 125 Husky :D. It's now a 165 so if you do go with the 125/144 and it's not enough you can always step up to a 165. There are plenty of upgrades for the 125/144 but if you even think about the 165 don't spend your money ona 125/144 exhaust as they have a 200 KTM Fatty made up for the 165. The SmartCarb or Lectron carbs can be had for them which really smooths out the power and eliminates the jetting guessing. I know several members have way more ride time than me on a KTM 200 but my few minutes I had on one let me know I like the Husky 125/144/165 better. Not knocking the KTM 200 but the ergos and handling of the small bore Huskys just feel better to me .

With the 144 kit, the Scalvini pipe is awesome! Definitely you will have to rejet the stock carb and adjust the power valve before you ride it. I can hardly remember the last time I rode my 250.

How much do the 165 kits run and how much are 200sx pipe set up for it just curious sounds like it would make it more fun

I would recommend that you ride one first if you can. I greatly prefer my 144.
Of Course I greatly prefer my 165. :D They are both great and my 165 is the ultimate trail weapon to me. Can't imagine anything better. It does rev better now than it did when you rode it. The RB Modded TMXX made quite a bit of difference over the pwk.

I think the WB165 cost $680.00 and the 200 Fatty pipe ready to bolt on is $250.00 I also have the SmartCarb on my WB165 which really makes the package complete IMHO. I would try the 144 stock as suggested because it may be all you need or want.

Yes it's a complete kit. you can send your cylinder to get done on do like most and just do the exchange deal to speed up the process. If I was to get a new Husky 125 with the free 144/150 kit I would bolt on the 144 and send the new 125 out for the WB165. When you get the WB165 kit it's a very simple bolt on with new gaskets ready to go.

Bill's Motorcycle Plus in Oregon has 125's modded to the WB165 to be sold as new. I bought a used 125 from BMP. Very nice talking/buying from Bill himself, and he shipped the bike to me in WY from OR for $250 (if memory serves... maybe it was $200). Very well packaged and crated. Something to chew on, even if you're located in NH. If I was getting another bike (and by that, I mean ANY additional bike: street, dirt, trike, hack, moped, so on), it would be another Husky 125, and I would be getting it from BMP, and it would be a WB165, and I would not hesitate to have it shipped to me.

P.S. I am accepting donations from people who agree with me...
