  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

125-200cc Need a couple torque specs, 09 CR125

The 6mm axle pinch bolts on the fork legs. The Maizochi manual doesnt translate to well for me.
Are these the "wheel axle Allen Screws"? Because the ones on my bike are not allen heads, and
4.4 ft/# seems pretty light. Also, i am looking for the cylinder base nut and cylinder head bolt torques if anyone has those handy.

Gruppo registro compressione su tappo - Compression adjustment set on cap 20 ± 1
Tappo su portastelo - Cap on slider 20 ± 1
Vite spurgo olio - Oil draining screw 0,5 ± 0,1
Dado di fondo su gruppo cartuccia - Foot nut on cartridge unit 50 ± 1
Controdado su gruppo estensione - Controdado su gruppo estensione 20 ± 1
Dado gruppo estensione - Rebound unit nut 6 ± 1
Vite gruppo compressione - Compression unit screw 10 ± 1
Viti a brugola bloccaggio perni ruota - Wheel axle Allen screws 6 ± 1

7.7 ft lbs for the front axle pinch bolts.

That is from my TXC manual, same forks and axle as the CR125...

Later,

Every time I strike gold and decipher one of those riddles I'll throw a fist pump!

What really helps me is to have a manual around for a similar style bike (yz250 in my case) and use it for reference. Most of the torque values are similar and I can usually figure out that a 'Left lower retainer fork rod holder' is actually just a lower triple clamp bolt.

Its kinda funny,my CR manual has i think about 7 torque specs in it. It has the upper triple tree clamp bolt.. but not the lower? Its a good thing encyclopedia Jake is around to keep me from screwing things up!

When in doubt I use this from the manual:

Bolt Size................ Nm.............. Kgm............ Lb/ft
M5x0.8 ............... 4.9-6.9 ......... 0.5-0.7 ....... 3.6-5
M6x1 .................. 8.8-9............. 8.0-9.1 ....... 6.5-7.2
M8x1.25 ............. 21.6-23......... 2.2-2.4 ...... 16-17.3

I'm going to try and attach a pdf of part of a '08 WR125 shop manual. These are the English pages of torque specs.

If the attachment does not work and you want me to email it, send me a pm with your email.

Hopefully it works...

Hey it looks like it worked! Can anybody else open it?
