• 2 Stroke Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Italy - About 1989 to 2014
    WR = 2st Enduro & CR = 2st Cross

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

All 2st Need A Clerk (organizer?) For The 2 Stroke Forum.

I think the 2 stroke forum could use some tidying up.

Many many times in the past people have asked for threads be made a sticky, or locked, etc.

So I am looking for a volunteer who's qualifications include:
  • They know the Husqvarna 2 stroke bikes :)
  • They regularly participate at Cafe Husky
  • Good organizational skills
Benefits include: The adulation and respect of your fellow 2 stroke Husqvarna enthusiasts... and that is about it. :D

Whoever it is will have the following powers: Stick/unstick & Lock/unlock threads, and a couple of other things as needed.

I asked around and everyone I asked thought it was a good idea, so lets see if there is any takers.

(This position is not a Moderator position.. just organize the content as you see fit)

Maybe Wallybean? TROFFFER88?

I know there were several that were enthused about keeping things tidy.

Once the 2 stroke forum has someone and we work out all the details, we can expand it into the other forums.

Starting with the 2 stroke forum because my knowledge of 2 strokes is hovering right at absolute zero.

I was talking with someone when it occurred to me that there is no reason that there could not be multiple people doing this for the 2 stroke forum. Whatever makes sense.

I would be willing to help out. I like the idea of having a couple people share this responsibility. This would be a good approach for me.

I don't know enough about these bikes to be the guy doing this, but I am an organizer by nature... can I give some suggestions?

  1. 125 and variant sticky (links in first few posts to jetting threads, parts threads, pics/videos, common questions and/or mods threads)
  2. 250 and variant sticky (links in first few posts to jetting threads, parts threads, pics/videos, common questions and/or mods threads)
  3. 360 sticky (links in first few posts to jetting threads, parts threads, pics/videos, common questions and/or mods threads)
  • new threads should be made for jetting database (chat included) for EACH model separately, and linked from sticky threads above
  • new threads should be made for parts availability for EACH model separately, and linked from sticky threads above
If this is all too much to do quickly, it might be easiest to start out with each of the posts in the sticky be just links to a specific search, and the info can be vetted at a later time.

Just my thoughts, good luck with this.

p.s. I wouldn't mind doing all that work, if nobody else wants to.

I nominate Giant Joe.

We have a victim helper!

Congratulations! :applause:

Matt was chosen for several reasons, especially since he was already maintaining the Cr/wr125 Index Thread & 2-Stroke Jetting Database Thread. He can choose whoever he wants to help him, but I hope he considers the people mentioned in this thread.

Matt - one of the goals should be to keep the number of sticky threads to a minimum... maybe no more than 4 or 5. And if desired in the future I could set you up with a reference page of sorts, but you would need to do that using html - really simple to do actually.

Congrats MattR!!.

I second GiantJoe's suggestion but Coffee, can you have just a subfolder under the 2t thread whilst keeping the sticky's on the main page which should cover all cc's of WR's (like the Photo and Jetting Database) as well as general topics?
It's probably more admin and housekeeping related but l enjoy reading threads that involve all owners of different cc 2t's...maybe leave the header of the thread and when clicked, either have a sign 'Moved to WRXXX' or go direct to where the thread had moved?
Quite happy to help out.

Sorry, what l meant was on the main 2 Stroke page could have three subfolders so it looks like
2 Stroke
- WR1250
- WR250
- WR360
Sticky
Sticky

So the housekeeping part is examining the posts and filing them away into the appropriate folder unless they are generic. I have seen some forum software that can keep the original post in the main body but it becames a hyperlink leading the user to the relating folder or the original post has a 'moved to wrxxx'.

I'll let Matt decide how things will be handled.. we are discussing back and forth ideas.. and your idea is one of them.
