  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Check HVA factory. If you have an old sleeve, you can send it to LA sleve and they will make you a new one. Of course neither option is cheap.

Do different searches on eBay. It all doesn't come up with one search.

250 husqvarna

83 husqvarna 250

Husqvarna 250

82 husqvarna 250

84 Husqvarna

Husqvarna dirt-bike

Husqvarna 84 250

Take your time and do all different searches. I found a 83 250cr cylinder with head on its standard bore but slightly scored for $100. The first over piston should work on boring it. Look for a cylinder they show up every so often. Look for the make offer option. I do a lot of eBay. I bought three 430/500 husqvarna cases and engines in a row. You have to buy when you see it. I paid $39 for a 420 cylinder with a compression release in the head. When this stuff is there buy it.

I'd rather lie in my bed with my iPad searching eBay when I can't sleep or I'm not watching tv. I'd rather search eBay for parts.

So my '84 250wr air cooled does have a cr ported cylinder on it?

WOW, i was quoted now misquoted
an 83 CR and XC cylinder was continued as an XC cylinder in 84, the CR was liquid cooled
and finally the WR was a different part number, my guess was slightly more conservative porting
so in conclusion the WR has an air cooled cylinder similar to the XC and CR of 83
it will work but if you want a CORRECT WR cylinder keep looking
this was a suggestion to use the 83 cylinder if none was available, they are interchangeable but albeit with different porting

My '84 250wr rips when we twist it more like a cr than a wr porting. None of my '83 250's wr ran like this one. I'm just stating what were seeing. My son rode my 83 430wr for most of his riding life and he noticed the difference in response too.
I perfer the cr cylinder anyway. I like a ride that's tame but if we wick it she's a wild woman.

602-909-8453. XC and WR air cooled used the same cylinder. The CR was different with the addition of boost ports.

The 84 WR had the added booster ports behind the sleeve at bottom.

I have one here but need sleeve

The one on ebay doesn't have the extra exhaust eyelet ports that a true 84 wr has.

I never seen the extra exhaust ports on the air cooled. Only the extra transfer ports on the intake.
