• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

A filthy me and the "old warriors".

Start of the post vintage Hare Scramble start. 1 lap on mx course then 1 hour of woods. Was pouring...really pouring and I ALWAYS sucked at starts! Mid pack of 28 in class wasn't bad though.

Still pouring bad...Husky 430 eating it up though

Splashing through!

Rice Paddy MX style!

Back in pits after a 3rd place in that race.

different race. 1984 WR125. Not the wisest to pick a 125 as a last race closer after riding 2 previous H.S.'s that morning on open bikes and a badly deteriorated course but hey....who knew...and it was fun and I got even dirtier too!

joe_430_09.jpg

Trying to stay on it and "Hop" over as much slop as possible rather than plow through it!

Another of the "drier" spots on the course!

Stream at bottom of hill and before a snotty rooty uphill.....pin to win and the little 125 ran fine where others failed!

Hill just before the checkers of the 3rd HS of the day. Yes...they do have hills in Ohio! And yes....I was too damn tired to be looking up by this point!

After last Hare Scramble.....picture is worth 1,000 words!

Just a quick pic of some of the fruits of the labor that day.....one of several 3rd's.....made the box each time and owe it all to the good old Huskys...'cause it sure wasn't my skills!
