  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc My New WR300

Rickyme

Husqvarna
AA Class
I know Im preaching to the converted but ive had my 300 for 2 weeks and apart from a couple of teething issues, this thing is just ...awesum.
Last weekend the carby float height was all wrong from the shop but they fixed it for this weekend and the difference...whoa soo much power , have to be a little careful with that throttle in the bush dont we?
Ive got the JD kit in the Mikuni and a procircuit which unfortunately I have dented badly at the front when one of my "friends " threw up a big branch from their back wheel.
It doesnt seem to make much of a difference in power though, maybe Ill be able to get it fixed and put a pipe guard on.
I was reading this forum for some time before I bought the 300 as I have a Terra 650 also.
Im really happy Ive bought the last of the WRs and I want to keep it for a long time
Im around 5,10 with short legs, 82kg and I dont have a problem with the height or kickstart.Long travel bikes are tall and starting isn't so bad once you're used to i
I love the way this thing handles, you can get really outta shape and still it just seems to straighten out, if you can hang on.
Ive found it encourages me to stand all the time and steer with the throttle, fast or slow.My 4 stroke mates are all sitting down, getting bounced around while I feel Im cruising on the pegs
Finding the back brake is a little hard to find but the brembos are spectacular.
Suspension is very confidence inspiring plush but taught, makes you want to go fast Huh?
A couple of irksome things are the gas cap leaks badly and one of the fork seal is weeping (maybe just a bit of dirt up there)

Just thought Id post here cause I cant talk about it with my KTM riding buddies, they just don't believe me and Im not about to let them ride my bike when they keep falling off theirs.
It is a shame that this era has ended but Im really happy I have 2 of the best in my garage

As you ride the WR you will get faster and realize the suspension needs some work and you may want to consider lowering it at the point. I stand most of the time and with it being an inch lower and suspension sorted, its so much better thru tight stuff and no more deflection. The motor in that bike is a gem. I have a friend who wants to put a WR300 motor in his 86 Honda 250R quad which is punched out to a 350. He hates that motor and wishes he had mine. Problem is the sprocket is on the wrong side haha.
Heres a little clip on my WR. Love love love it.

By the way, the pipe is gonna get mashed. It sucks but I would take advantage of the blowout prices on the pro circuit full exhaust from Husqvarna. They are going for less than the price of some expansion chambers alone. I figured why buy a $120 carbon exhaust guard when I can get an extra exhaust system for around $200.

Lots of brutal rocks out this way. It kills pipes. Funny my one rad started leaking without even hitting anything haha.

And just where are these sales happening?

Call your local dealer. I got mine from my local guy a couple months ago. They were blowin out complete exhausts for cheap.

I got the procircuit put on before I picked it up and my dealer reckons he can blow it out no probs. and then put the bashplate /pipe guard on.
Im not really worried about a pipe looking dented, just a bit of protection

I will have to take a pic of my PC WORKS pipe i just took off the bike. It looks like 1000s of mad little elves in the forest went at it for an hour with little forest hammers haha

I sent my PC P2 pipe out to get fixed because it looked similar to K5PL5's. One ride and it already has a dent in it. :)

Yeh overall its not bad and im def gonna send it out and have it repaired. Great pipe and the strength of that compaired to stock is no match. I creased my stock pipe bad with one hit. Junk.

I ordered the Cycra 1 1/8th kit & a E.E. leather rear fender pack for tools & such. I really like the look of the Moose Racing skid plate on ebay because it has a hole to drain my CC oil, any reason I should consider a different brand? I'm also considering a JD kit to get me a little better throttle response in the low end, it's not bad, just think it could be crisper.

Is there much difference between the PC pipe & silencer on ebay & a FMF Gnarly with a stock silencer. I would love to get more power down low at the expense of some of my top end. The reviews on the Gnarly looks good & I believe I can use my stock silencer, but if the PC exhaust performs as well, I wouldn't mind grabbing it instead.

Does the Recluse EXP 2.0 still allow use of the clutch like the Z start pro? I'm not clear on the difference. If so can I just order the $400 EXP 2.0 & drop it in & go? Don't want to spend $700 on a complete auto clutch kit.

Anyone use a power valve controller? I'm curious how effective these work. If I want to put a bigger wave rotor on the back, do I just need the Moose racing rear carrier & a rotor? Thanks for all the help sorting my bike.

Order the big brake kit from either Zip Ty Racing or Jeff at Halls You get a trick rear caliper braket that comes with a shark fin Then you can put a wave rotor from any of the new husky bolt it direct to the hub Now you have good rear brake that does not over heat or rattle
there are some post on here showing pictures

I put a provini power valve device and recluze clutch on my 10 wr300 the best mods ever i have put recluze on all of my bikes great traction and no need to kick start. good when knackered the provini is great also just alter it on the move
