  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Josh,
Great looking bike, your CRF fender and number plate looks very nice. What brand did you use, and what modifications were needed to mount them up?
Thanks

Very nice! very original looking for a Husky,I like it!
Also interested in the brand of fender used.

Thanks Guys for the compliments! the fender and number plate brand is UFO, for a 2013 Crf250r.
The instillation was pretty easy, I just had to re drill the holes for the fender and I cable tied the number plate to the fender (You could also bolt it together but the cable ties are sturdy enough)

Since my first post I have added a Talon 52 tooth sprocket, a pro circuit works pipe with a R304 silencer, a carburettor hose kit and I have polished the flywheel cover so here are some pics

The procircuit pipe gives it a better throttle response and you can feel a little bit more power down low and on top.

And johnnyboy, they are protaper grips but I don't think ill ever get those ones again as they only lasted 1 ride

Thanks Geraint, Believe it or not I have, a lot actually and it is heart breaking . But after every ride I strip the bike down and give it a good clean and that's why it is still looking fresh after owning it for a year and a half.

Very nice, well done.

But after every ride I strip the bike down and give it a good clean and that's why it is still looking fresh after owning it for a year and a half.

And you love it, that's good :) I'm lusting after a 125/165, but I haven't finished setup of my wr300 yet, so....

Re: grips
I'm hard on grips for some reason, been through many on my XR, my fav now are Moose half-waffle. They have a great compound and wear very well.
And, I liked the stock grips on my '12 WR300. I just installed Domino dual-compound on the wr300, nice but feel a little thin. I haven' ridden with them yet. And, I got Domino half-waffle too hoping they're equal to the stock Husky grips since they make them. Planning to install them on some new bars.

Looks good, but on my screen it's orange!

cheers
