  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

125-200cc My 144cc husky

Hi,

This is first time i write to any forum and english isn´t my first language so there will be lots of mistakes.:D

So, i bought about a week ago a husky whit an 144cc kit. I did a quick test in the buying place and it felt really good. We drove about a 500 km to get the husky so we decided we will buy it no matter what when we were still at home. Then we drove to my uncles place to take the bike there because i haven`t got a licence yet and the temptation would be too big if it was at home.

When we got to my uncles house we took the husq to the garage and decided to investigate it the next day. When we had the time for the bike we discovered it was far from stock. It has lots of power and it was really different than my friend husky. We realized that there was no battery, the speedometer doesn´t work,Powervalve system doesnt work because it´s wr topend in sm 2008 bottom end, there were no blinkers, fog lights didn´t work neither did horn and it time to work it.

So for now the "powerparts" are
- 144cc wr top end
- 34mm mikuni
- wr inlet manifold

its not much but im planning to buy v force 3 this winter and maybe lower the cylinder head.

And for the looks, picture tells more than a 100 words

Shitty quality :(

I will tell more and take better pictures when i see the bike next time but for now any opinion and suggestion are more than welcome.

This is a little awkward but how can i edit a post. I spotted a huge mistake at post uptop and now i dont know how to edit that...

Cool bike! I can't remember how long it stays availible, but there is an edit option in lower right hand side, by reply.

Hi

Thanks Norman. I was supposed to say in the opening post that it doesnt matter if the bike has some faults because i have the whole winter time to fix it.☺️ Also i forgot to mention that the bike has Doma exhaust.

I would like to know if any of u guys have installed blinkers in a nonbattery bike because im kinda lost whit it

I managed too connect my headlight and taillight to my 09 Wr250 without the battery, including a brakelight switch. All worked well until I rode the bike!

The vibration (2 stroke vibration I assume; everything seems tightly bolted together) at the tail of the bike broke bulb filaments or shook wires loose until they disconnected or broke. After about 4 rides I had enough. The headlight bulb still works fine. The previous owner put a KTM headlight assembly on the bike so I have a funky KTM type bulb there.

For the rear I bought a rechargable Rocky Mountain ATV 12V battery pack and zip tied it inside the air box. I also installed a simple on/off switch on the handlebar. I wired it all to an Ascerbis LED taillight/fender combo from RMATV. It's nice and compact and cheap. Now my headlight turns on when I kick the bike over but the taillight only comes on when I turn the switch to on. I charge the battery in the garage at night. Light will operate at least a full day. Any worries for the charge I just turn off the taillight.

This combo has held up for months now including a really rough rock ride dual sport at Rausch Creek in Pa.

Good luck.

Hi,

Thanks for the tips Mike. I think it will be easiest if i buy a battery and try to do it with battery. The bike is coming to roaduse and i want that lights etc. work perfectly because otherwise it will attract police and i dont want that:rolleyes:

Hi,

A friend of mine needs 34-38 carb for his husky. If somebody is selling one with reasonible price pm me

Hi. Still waiting for driving weathers and license :( nothing special has happened to my husq. I only have bought mirrors and i will post pictures later when i get to see the bike. But some questions have come to my mind... Is the 34mm keihin big/good enough for the 144cc. Everyone i know who have 144cc kits also have 38mm carb. Should i upgrade? Cheers MS

Hi MargeFIN, I've got a Hall's modified Mikuni TMXx 38 carb if you're interested. Comes with a bunch of jets, two slides (i think), throttle cable, PowerNow wing, etc.

I'll figure out a price and PM you if you're still looking for one.
