  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

MXA bashing the 2011 TC449

Husqvarna
AA Class
I was just reading the latest MXA and they bashed the TC449 as one of the worst bikes ever!! I have two TXC's and although the TXC has some benefits for me over the TC, I still am quite offended.

I love mine. everytime I ride I love it more.

It takes a minute to get used to the CTS, but after that it just gets better and better.

Love the tank and the airbox.

In all this dust I still have a clean filter. My other bikes would have required a few cleanings by now.

The low center of gravity is awesome. Sometimes it even suprises me. I got out of balance and was sure Sunday that I was going to hit a tree. Instead I pulled the bike out from under me and shoved it left. zoom the tree went by me with not even a brushing.

Read through the history of posts on these bikes and you will find it is the most polarizing bike made. The actual customers who buy and ride them seem to absolutely LOVE them. Those standing on the side lines and at the mags love to hate on it because it is not a lemming bike and exactly like a CRF450 like they all are or not a KTM and come with coolaid. That said I'm sure the Japenese bikes are much better MX bikes as thats all they have been designed to do for a decade. The husky is a stripped and converted DS bike and thats not going to win shootout. But worst bike ever is a flat out lie and we all know it. Bashing because it is EZ to do. Ride your bike and enjoy it like all us real customers do and forget the goofy press. Real information exists here at Cafehusky.

Several magazines have said the TC449 is not a good MX bike at all and that may be true. But they also say even in TC form it makes a great trail bike that has amazing traction no matter what. One of the worst bikes ever? That is not fair. Of course they also say the 2010 TC250 is one of the worst because it won't start, but mine starts and I love it, but once again I use mine in the deep woods not MX.
