• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

SECOND PLACE FOR SALVINI IN ARGENTINA

The third round of the MX3 World Championship was held in Argentina on the nice track of La Roija in front of 20.000 people.

Italian Husqvarna Team rider Alex Salvini claimed a second position behind Spanish rider Campano sharing the pole with him. Alex Salvini and his Husqvarna 450cc won the heat after being in pole position during the qualifying race of Saturday.

During heat 2 a bad start compromised his race and had to fight hard to gain a second place just after Campano. Husqvarna Team Tecno B Slovenian Irt was 3rd overall.

Results after 3 heats: 1. Campano ( Yamaha), 2. Salvini ( Husqvarna) 131, 3. Irt (Husqvarna) 110.

MX1 and MX2 motorcycles may also participate in MX3

that about covers every full size bike out there. MX3 is a run what you brung class.

They dont get as much press, cant find any videos from the race online. Be nice to see some good video of a Husky in battle.

its the non-big time class (basically the open class)..........MX1 and MX2 are the darlings and very top level. check the alex salvini website i havent for a while but he had some vides before,,, or go youtube salvini, irt, martin etc

Sad thing is, is this used to be the premier class.

Yep ....The big bores kind of got kicked to the curb thu the years ;( Racers used to ride the 125s, next 250s, and then they raced the real bikes! The open class!

I was reading somewhere that the entry fees for this class are much lower than the other 2 classes also making this the class of choice if UR funds are limited ...

Keep the GP photo's coming. How is the Husqvarna team this year for MX3? I wish they covered the GP season more in my area, we just get the AMA stuff on TV.
Also, those CCM's are real cool. Love seeing CCM, TM and Husqvarna lining up and battling!

I stand corrected from another post and see that the 289 of M Irt is the TC450 with an Akropovic close to the head collector, from the right side with single pipe it looked like a 250 (thus my 250 call).
They have great fotos on the youthstream site!
The Agentina MX3 location is an exact replica of so many spots in the SoCal dez areas, looks like Hesperia, or Johnson valley!! RN

intersting for suspension Irt appears to run the Poletti tuned Paioli forks with a Ohlins shock also spot what looks like a magnetic style cover for the oil filter.

You may be confusing the two Irt riders. Jernej Irt is the EMX2 rider on a Husky TC250 who has won a couple races, and Matevz Irt is the MX3 rider.

Yeh I noticed the Paioli forks, not sure why they use them as the standard Kayabas are a good good fork. Also the EMX2 team use Ohlins shocks and I think Akrapovic exhausts

from what I understand Paiolis are basically cloned and parted KYBs but fully blueprinted, specially coated etc etc, so kind of a works KYB set up.
It makes sense the Irt bros are sponsored by Igor Ak. as they are all from Slovenia. that sure is a nice sponsor to have!! I saw the EMX2 250 Irt as well, it was from a previous post that I thought the 250 Irt was also doing MX3 and near a holeshot on the TC250 (but I was wrong it was the M Irt on his 450 with the single tube exhaust along the left side of the motor) Thanks for added info.

Like i said before M Irt runs a TC450 bike, 250F bikes are not allowed in MX3 class. And he drives for Techno B team. While Alex Salvini and the 2 emx2 guys is driving for Cross2R Factory team.
