• Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

This is so.... ironic! I saw a blog post somewhere and it accussed MX Sports of being tough on Glen Helen, because they (MX Sports) were sucking up to FIM and Youth Stream for a USGP and future US MX of Nations. I guess not! As a typical East Coast Provincial, I wish this was at Unadilla.:busted: Very cool to have a USGP at Glen Helen no matter what US MX snobs think!
 
Who out there believes this shake up in schedules took place in the last few days since it was announced the ama nazis aren't showing up there this year? This is just business and business is business ...

With that said , it should be very good racing & a 5 yr deal!!! ...

The article also says all american riders can race also .... This is sounding very good so far ...
Does the FIM allow 2t and 4t machines to race together?

I just picked up a copy of MXA (I like to call it MX Fiction) to get the WR300 kit bike story. There it is... "Jody's Box". A column dedicated to all that's wrong with AMA/MX Sports in 15 points. Point number 10... "Any team manager who is upset with the sport is being run is free to call whatever AMA official he is talking to at the time "Giuseppe". The inference being "Guiseppe Luongo" President of Youthstream, which promotes the FIM MX Series and is a bad influence on the AMA/MX Sports. Glen Helen gets in a pissing match with AMA/MX Sports and runs right into the arms of the FIM/Youthstream.... who they speak derisively of and blame all promblems in AMA MX to this "inferior" series. Yup.... it's all about the money and the riders suffer. By the way.... Jody looks great as usual in his white Hi-Points!
 
MXA had a big article about Youthstream and Giuaseppe recently. They really bagged on him and how he treats the promoters and riders as commodities. Rider counts are way down, gate fees are way up. Be intersting to see how many riders make the trek over the pond and what the gate fees are going to be.

I bet the top riders make a stop at ThunderValley in CO to ride the MXDN track for this year.
 
I think that as We IE England have had trouble with the original date ( problem with land owner of GP sitethey had something else on that weekend ) it left a big gap in dates so i think Guiseppe Luongo asked Glen Hellen if they could help, do not quote me on this thou.
But what you hear about Mr Luongo is true that he treats promoters and riders as commodities.

The US parties, AMA (sanctioning body) and MX Sport (promoter group) haven't criticized their International/Euro counterparts, FIM (sanctioning body) and Youthstream (promoter group). Some in the "US Motocross Industry" have done this though, with MXA mag in the lead.

Without a doubt..... Racer X news from MXGP opening round in Bulgaria shows that they're excited to come! It will be quite the show!
