  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Only had the 2013 TE 449 bike 6 weeks and I am afraid it is not the bike for me. I am now looking at the FE450 and or 501 as well as the Sherco 450 and Beta 480. The 449 has amazing up hill traction. However I feel the drive from the CTS pushes the front end to heavily on tight bends and steep descents. It feels old school and heavy c/w the late Huskies/KTM's/Shercos etc even though its real weight is comparable.
Still riding and loving my 310's in the tight and my 630 on the longer fire trails
Thanks to all you guys who have been of great support in helping me understand this bike.

My TE449 doesn’t push the front at all.
The front is the most faithful steering bike I've ridden actually.

That said, the Sherco 450 is a nice bike to ride and especially so if you don't wish to join all the other orange guys.
The Shercos have received a host of meaningful upgrades for the 2017 models, one of which is steering geometry changes.
(personally I thought the 2015/16 450 front was to light and lacked feeling like most KTMs) so seems that they listen to feedback.
Definitely worth looking at.

Its funny how we each interpret bikes quite differently. Probably as much about disparate riding styles as anything.
I have actually gone for a Beta 480RR which I pick up this weekend.
I am going to sell the 449 privately, its a 13 model with only 600kms on the dial with spare plastics, B&B bash plate, bark busters, force radiator guards, Akro pipe, 12 months rec reg, brand new tyres and a full service service last week including swing are and linkage regreasing etc.

Good luck with your new breather product. The vid made it look very well put together.
