  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc Motosportz w300 shifter fitment

twenty

Husqvarna
AA Class
Hi All

Just looking for some feedback on Motosportz folding shift lever in relation to fitment on a 2010 wr300. Just looks to be kinked to fit the newer bikes.

Currently i use the standard shifter turned one spine clockwise to fit my boot under and seems to work OK, bit it is rubbing on the casing, which im not happy with.

I would be looking to fit a +20mm tip to this as well. Dont want to go OEM as i was just quoted $180 (aud) for the shifter from a husky dealer.

Thanks
Glenn

that's for the 125s & 250/310s I believe. ask for the driven shifter(ally) which motosportz stock still I think & whack the hammerhead +20mm tip on it. that's what I did. theres a thread lankydoug posted up a few years ago about it on how to get it to fit up sweet. easy as really. do a search & you should find it. just have it far enough out from clutch cover to not rub. plenty of room & still full purchase on shaft splines. had mine for years now!

pm me ya number glenn & ill text ya a photo of mine tomorrow so you can see for yourself mate

ps who in their right mind would pay $180 for that cast steel hunk of junk they call a shifter. they should pay you to use that thing. Aussie dealers & their pricing-unreal:thumbsdown:

Stock shifter bends just from use! You can bend it easily with just a big screw driver, so it doesn't hit the clutch cover or better in a vise. The aluminum one off ebay, from the UK, is pretty good.

Where's that one from? Got a link?

That is the one off the motosportz web site, mike cleared it up, just a generic photo but they would have the appropriate model for your bike.

Thanks for the tip shawbagga, probably going to grab a RFX shifter off ebay and grab an extended tip from hammer head or zipty.

I've got the RFX shifter and it's pretty good. Like someone else said, it kept coming loose until I added a longer bolt. Also bent it in crashing and had bend it back. I bent the stocker so many times I rigged a place on my bench to bolt on and pry it back into shape  The RFX is the same length as stock and works fine for my sz 11/44 boots (size 12 in Fox Chinese boots) It holding up pretty well, a little spendy, will get something else for a spare though.
