• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Motorcycle Tire Chock

I bought an enclosed trailer. It has all the tie-downs on the floor and two plates about 4 inches square where the previous owner slid in some tire chocks. So these square plates are secured by two bolts in front and are bent up to leave a small 1/4 inch gap so his chocks would just slide in under. He took the chocks with him and I figured I'd be able to find a pair to replace them but so far no luck. Just needs to be a plain basic tube with a narrow plate across the bottom to catch this little square. Any idea what brand I'd be looking for or should I just get the basic tubes and then weld a little plate on the bottom?

Pictures... :)

If we could see it, then it would be easier to make a suggestion.

If George can post a picture... :D

I've not seen any like that before. Since all you have left is that plate it would seem to me you could simply start over and put in what ever you want. Might be simpler.

I think these might do it. They have a plate to fit under the metal fixture on the floor.

Found them for $25 ea....ordered 2...don't know what shipping is yet but according to them it will be standard ground UPS.

Way better than the multi-part Harbor Freight items that screw together...and they want $19 for them. Even at $10 I probably would have passed.

I have 2 of that style in my enclosed trailer that I mounted to the wooden floor using the included hardware for easy removal of the chock if needed. Work very well with their hardware after 6 years. The threaded inserts you install into the floor are pretty robust and install with an allen style hex wrench. HTH
