  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Modifications, are they worth it?

Hand guards protect the handlebars ALOT, I'd say this mod is a required one, a no-brainer.

TE511/2012. Seat concepts seat, suspension reworked, FMF with quietcore, (really improved),
Sic Ass front turn signal/ deflectors with enduro engineering bark busters, Sic Ass rear flush mount
Turn signals, Sic Ass ignition key, Dunlop 606's fore and aft,
Going to do power commander V with auto tune and TC airbox, better skid plate, and assorted bling..
Some improvements make sense, some are just to make Gertrude pretty!

Ty said they are on the list of items to be machined as well as a front disk guard that covers the entire disk.

You can put me down for a shark fin, a magnetic fill plug, a front axle nut, and a magnetic filter housing cover if you make one. Let me know when they are ready, and I'll call with payment info. I will need to have them shipped in a USPS flat rate box, though. UPS and FedEx to Alaska are crazy expensive.

Actually we do ship using USPS flat rate boxes, so no problem. I will add new products to our forums as they appear.

The CRF450R is a much light er machine... For every 7lbs= 1 hp ... I wont ask if you weigh more than your buddy :busted:
Yes, I weigh about 40lbs more than him. The Honda can only out do me in certain conditions. There are times I can make him envious also. Thanks for the input. If interested, I posted a couple of pics in the section "post photos of your bike".
